So it's my day off and decided to go into town and do a bit of Christmas shopping. It's monday morning, so thought it can't be that that busy. Boy was I wrong!
Attempting to find a parking space was the first challenge, finally spotted someone who was getting in their car and about to leave, so stopped and waited for them to come out. Waited and waited and waited in-fact. She reversed out and back in seven times in her huge Peugeot 605 bumping the wall behind in the process, before she finally managed to get out of the space. If you're reading this, you annoying woman, get a smaller car and/or some driving lessons.
In half of the shops you couldn't move in, the rest had hardly anything left to buy. Not to mention the fun fun game of "find where the back of the queue for the till starts" in WH Smiths just to buy a copy of Top Gear for the freebie calendar that's always in it at this time of year. If you even get it slightly wrong, you really get some evil looks from other shoppers. Once you get to the front, always seem to get stuck behind obnoxious sod who think's it's fun to moan at the poor shop assistant that they've had to wait so long.
After buying just that, I quite frankly gave up - was also very hungry - so off to Costa Coffee for a bacon roll and hot chocolate (don't really like tea or coffee). They should re-name that place 'Costa-lot coffee' - is bloody expensive.
I'd now just like to thank whoever invented internet shopping sites, as that's where I'll be doing all of mine this year - and probably for years to come!
