The new iPod!

What an amazing bit of kit the latest generation iPod is!

I've had a 3G iPod for a couple of years now and it was coming towards the end of it's useful life (was scratched all over, was having problems updating songs and battery life was starting to go down!) - so was time for a new one! My parents bought me a new 30GB iPod with video for christmas and, in short, it's great!

I remember when I opened the box of my original one (I'd never seen one other than in photos before at that time) was amazed by how small it was what it contained. The new one is even thinner! It's also the same width and height despite the bigger screen it's got - it's a great piece of engineering!

The features in it are nice too, excellent bright and high quality screen - would't really want to watch a full length movie on a screen of that size, but it's great for short clips and music videos. They battery life has improved too, used it for a couple of hours a day, mainly just listening to music (videos and photos use up more power!) and lasted over 5 days without needing a re-charge. Used to get about two or three days before! Has still got the same easy to use interface on it too.

Has been alot of reports of them being really easy to get scratched, but really haven't noticed it. When it's in my pocket I keep it in the pouch that was included with it, keeps it protected pretty well. There is a couple of small hairline scratches on the screen, but you really can't see them at all unless you're specifically looking for them under a bright light.

It's also £80 cheaper than I paid for my last one!

I'm well impressed by it, is easy to see why so so many are sold!

I've got some hairline scratches on mine, still not sure on the battery life though. pinch.gif Getting 6 hours of music...
I just got one of these too. A black one, even. I love it - I can use it a few hours a day and get about 4-5 days use out of it. And I've got 2500 photos and 800 songs on mine so far.. 5 GB.

For the scratches, I'm the same aswell. A couple of tiny hairline scratches on mine and that's it. Doesn't distort the viewing so I'm happy. But whenever it's not in my hand, I use the leather pouch.

And the price. Well my uncle got mine from America and it was $50 USD more than the 4 GB Nano, almost deeming the Nano useless.
