IP.Gallery 4.0 - Uploading

Beta IPGallery
Arguably the most crucial part of the gallery system is the upload system. A cumbersome and slow upload system deters people from uploading new images.

Certainly, the current Gallery doesn't make it very easy to upload multiple images and filling out the meta data such as caption, etc is a chore. We've had a lot of feedback over the years on the Gallery's upload system and I wanted to take the opportunity to write a fast and intuitive upload system.

The following video takes you through a typical scenario: You've taken a bunch of pictures, labelled them and you're ready to share them with the community.

I recommend that you click the full screen button or use a powerful magnifying glass.

Seems great again.
YAY!!!!
I love this whole new ajax stuff..
Looks fantastic, thanks for the video preview!

Looks awesome. Now it's time for IPB to get those upgrades
Looks fantastic, thanks for the video preview!
Release the Kraken! Looks outstanding!
Looking good. How about a one-click way to take all those photos and put them into a post in your forums?
I have a question. What if the geo location hasn't already been set on your computer. Is there a way to associate it with IP.G?
Question: If I saw correctly, there were titles added automatically or how is possible that?
Few things.. please make it so we can do a "check all" for location aware pictures. I don't want to check boxes a hundred times. In the options, make this an available option to "always check" the location aware tag so we never forget.

Also, tagging other users in the picture (ala facebook) would be a nice addition. Since it's designed to be a community gallery for your community, the odds are you can tag folks in the picture and they find out about it in their feed.

Anyway, looks great, tastes great, less filling! :)
This product looks truly amazing! I am going to purchase it - no doubt. All the little nuances that IPS has has payed attention to really shine through. that Any word as to whether there will be a pre-release sale, or is that only for new products? (I'm going off Nexus here) - Just wondering whether I should purchase it right now or wait to save a few $'s.
@eGullet: Certainly, we have a few ideas for this

@Lee: Location is taken from GPS EXIF data on the picture currently. Will add a way to manually set the co-ordinates

@Alex: IPTC tags are a universal form of meta data. I set the title in iPhoto and this was preserved on export / import to IPG

@Hercules: Mark already mentioned the check boxes, been meaning to add a 'check all' option for a while. User tagging is a neat idea but I'm not sure how widely used it will be. Perhaps for a future release.

Thanks! It's still in development but will be available soon.
Fantastic its just whats needed

wow....that's gonna be great to use!
NICE!
This is super. Will it resize the photos also. I have members who uploads driect from their camera.
Looking good Matt... I think you should have a universal Checkbox for the Map thing, watching you use it, it seemed a little cumbersome to have to manually check each one.
