IP.Links 3.2 now available

Posted by Alex, 04 February 2010 · 135 views

We'll keep this entry nice and brief, we are pleased to announce the stable release of IP.Links 3.2 is now available from IPS Resources.

Due to the success of the first beta, and little bugs within the product we have gone straight to final and therefore this is a supported release which we suggest you install on your live forums.

To view the support topic click here, you can read more about IP.Links over at the new community project section of the resource website. Finally, to report bugs there is a IP.Tracker project here.

Download IP.Links!

thanks!
nice
Thanks!
Just upgraded. No problems for me. Have to say the new photo from the link is very slick. Some of the new options are very handy and I've been able to get things how I wanted them to look. Thanks for a great upgrade.
So IP.Links is like a web directory? Yes? No? I am as you can see confused!Posted Image
Think of it like a public Bookmarks folder or something. It's not automated (ie, links are just sucked in from the net), they have to be submitted by the members. So in that regard it is a web directory. But it's easiest to just think of it as a public bookmarks/favorites keeping system.
  • Does IP.Links fetch the links from the users forum posts and make them "rateable"? That means, IP.Link is integrated with IP.Board.
  • If two users post the same link about amazon.com/product1, these two users are shown in IP.Links  "amazon.com/product1"?
  • Is it possible then that IP.Link shows the domains that are linked most, and in what forums? Example: amazon.com is linked most in the "How to" section and in the "Chit Chat forum".
  • Can IP.Links manipulate the links in both IP.Links directory and the IP.Board posts to include affiliate referrers?
  • Or is that all not true and every user has to input the link and a description within the addition IP.Links section?
  • I see great potential with creating a connection from affiliates and IP.Links. I input all my sold books affiliate list from amazon.com and check against which links from my IP.Board posts make which income. I then know that certain areas work well as others need improvement.
This sounds like a nice little add-on!

Just a few questions I hope someone can help with:

- Can you add custom fields? Eg name, address, postcode etc?

- Can you add some functionality to get the script to check for reciprocal links.. on a regular basis? (There's a link directory for vB that can do it.)

- Can you search links? (And by custom fields?)

- Does this use IP.C as it's backbone, or is it totally separate?

Cheers!
