[docwarning]The new Beta version has been uploaded here, contributors can access it here: http://community.inv...odule=resources[/docwarning]
Back in January I announced the arrival of the Documentation Generator, a free service for members of our community who have submitted to the IPS Resources directory. A few weeks later, it hit 'final'.
For the majority of last week, I have spent time going over every area within the Documentation Generator and working on implementing improvements that developers wanted, to avoid confusion we will call this version 1.1.
So, what's new?
For the most part, everything is similar to how it currently is on these forums, it still has the clean interface but I have worked to ensure all the bugs have been ironed out.
Many of you cried for a 'back' button so you could update information, it was annoying going all the way to the end of the generator and noticing some information was incorrect and you had to start again. This simple button has been added in, but it involved a major code overhaul of the majority of the functions to 'remember' your data that you entered on previous steps. I have tested it as well as I can and the information from previous/future steps automatically gets filled in.
I am also pleased to announce that we have scrapped the time limit on the generator, at the moment your documentation will stay online for a maximum of 48 hours and then it will get pruned from the database. As of 1.1, this is no longer the case and the default screen has been replaced with a documentation listing, as shown below.

This will also allow you to add multiple products, giving you a easy to use system to keep track of all the documentation and guides for your products.
Apart from that, there is not much I can really report as new, it's mainly been bug fixes. However, with these two new major additions, I feel it has made the generator a lot more usable by people in the community, and am hoping that it starts to get used!
We'll hopefully get the generator updated here mid-week to let you play with it, please note that with these new features there may be bugs and as such I am classing this as a beta.
Thank you for your feedback!
