I'm pleased to announce the release of the next major version of TracDown, 1.1.0!

TracDown 1.2.2

TracDown is a fully featured Bug Tracker. Helping you to Track Down your bugs.

TracDown makes bug tracking very easy, and was designed with the user in mind. You can perform otherwise complex tasks with only a few clicks.

What's New in TracDown 1.1?

Custom Severities

In order to make TracDown more of a multi-purpose application, and "not just a bug tracker" I've implemented Custom Severities. Custom Severities are available in two 'flavors', a Global Severity, such as "Unconfirmed", or "Fixed", and a Per-Category Severity, which I've found is useful for a suggestions category.

Custom Severities are also draggable on the AdminCP, and appear in the same order on the front-end. This is especially useful for suggestions categories, where you'd want the per-category severities above other severities.

TracDown ships with the default severities that you'd expect (Unconfirmed, Confirmed, Fixed, et al) and includes legacy support for those upgrading from 1.0.x to 1.1.x.

Improved Issue Timeline

Since TracDown 1.0.0 we've had the Issue Timeline, and it's always supported a couple of actions. In 1.1 I've extended this to support every possible action within TracDown, including the new Versions (added in 1.0.1) and Custom Severities, Pinned/Priority issues, and more.

The best news? These are all fully phrased, so you can change those from within your AdminCP.

Sub Categories

TracDown 1.0.2 included code which technically allowed Sub Categories, I've added further code which now allows you to add sub categories via the AdminCP.

Improved Versioning / Fixed In Versioning
Not all sites wanted to use Versioning within TracDown, so I've made Versioning Optional. Before, you could not have a versionless category, now you can. This is striving once more to my goal of making TracDown more multifunctional, to the enterprising webmaster.

I've also made Fixed In an optional field in both Quick and Full Edit, by adding a Blank entry by default.

Quick Navigation
In keeping with TracDown's tight integraton with IP.Board, I've added TracDown to the Quick Navigation feature, you can now access any category from within the Quick Navigation feature.

Shared Media Integration
Again, in keeping with TracDown's tight integraton with IP.Board, TracDown now supports IP.Boards fantastic Shared Media feature. You can now access any issue which you've created from the My Media area, and embed it into a post, and it's formatted with all the important data.

Miscellaneous Bug Fixes
  • Comments Permissions are now respected. Users can edit their own comments only, and no longer delete others.
  • Warning System Integration, you can now warn people from within the TracDown application.
  • Languages Overhaul - I've taken extra care to go through TracDown and find any hard-coded strings, this is an ever present battle but I think I've found them all and converted those to language strings.
  • Add Issue Form Breadcrumb now links to correct places and includes category.
  • Random Button added to release. A developer tool I used to randomise issues I was working on, I've added a setting to have this button enabled or not.
  • Convert to issue was broken with the addition of versions, I've fixed that.
  • Added Return to Category Checkbox added to Quick Edit
  • Offline Message added to Categories if TracDown is offline
  • Warning added to Versions Overview in ACP if versions are disabled.
  • Per category statistics added to the bottom of TracDown.
  • Recent Issues Hook now respects permissions.
  • Report Center / Downloads / Content / IPS Apps incompatibilities fixed.
  • Search Updates, My Content is now supported. Usernames and usability issues have been corrected.
  • Users can now view thier own private issues.
  • "My Issues" button on Categories.
  • Categories Filter Bar now only shows Categories you have permission to see.
I really hope you enjoy all the updated features in TracDown 1.1. As always feature requests and suggestions are very welcomed.

Please note, while I've worked tirelessly to ensure there are little to no bugs in 1.1, some may have slipped through. So if you notice any, please either PM me, reply to the support topic, or lodge a bug on my own TracDown.

Thank you for reading, and you can purchase / download TracDown from the IPS Marketplace, here, or simply click the big link at the top of this blog entry.
