Chances are you are reading this because you were intrigued by the link in my signature - rather, the link I will add in my signature when I am done writing this - and wanted to know more about the TKA. I doubt anyone browses the blogs, but if you got here that way, welcome as well.
Forums are a great communication medium, but they have one major flaw, and I think it's a frustration we've all experienced, but most of us are just too shy to speak up about it. So now I offer you a way to voice your frustration: link here with the text "Member of the TKA" or "Memeber of the Thread Killers Association" or "Member of the TKA, Click Here to join" or something to that effect.
The frustration expressed by TKA members is quite simple. You reply to a topic, and no one responds to it (thus, you have killed the topic). This is even more frustrating when you start a topic and no one responds to it - because usually original posts have more to them than the replies - and more so, you went out on a limb sharing your thoughts or asking a question only to have it ignored by everyone.
So if you're sick and tired of seeing your name as the last post on too many dead topics, or if you're sick and tired of writing topics people don't respond to, voice your solidarity with the TKA.
But do not be confused about our mission for one second. We are not here to whine that our topics/posts do not get answered. Quite the contrary. TKA members are proud to make posts and topics which bewilder and confuse our community peers beyond any possibility of a coherent answer. We take great pride in coming into a community of intelligent people and leaving them speechless.
I did not start the TKA, though I am starting the IPS Community Chapter of the TKA. As far as I know, the TKA was founded originally on the now-defunct Disturbed Message Board by my fiancée, then known as Silent Jo. As far as I know, this is the second chapter of the TKA, though it may have spread to other communities without our knowledge - or her idea was not original.
In either case, thank you for reading.
