Man - Nature's Parasite

Posted by • Jay •, 24 October 2006 · 83 views

Fireflies blazing up the night
Creating a wondrous sight
Crickets chirping at the lake
Birds singing for singing's sake

Where then do the creatures roam
When humans tear down their home?
Fields of splendor are no more
Virgin forests? Nevermore

Industry has reared it's head
Striking nature full of dread
For progress, man fills the lake
To return naught, only take

Building houses for their own
Scavengers turn every stone
In ignorance, man revels
Tossing their souls to devils

Devils named sloth, malice, greed
Driving men of every creed
Race to the top, they can't stop
Until they claim every drop

Men take heed, earth's parasites!
One day soon, you'll lose your might
Nature will claim what is hers
Leaving us what we deserve
