The first walk

YAAP (Yet another animation post)

So this is our first walk. This is a plain walk since they're surprisingly difficult to do so we need to get the basics sorted before we add character and other stuff.

This is just blocked (i.e. the main poses) so that's why it appears 'jerky'.

1leg animation

So, this is the first animation we've done that involves limbs. It's just one leg (hence the name) to ease us in since 2 legs is in-proportionately more difficult - that comes next week.

Yep! It's another bouncing ball!

There's plenty of these to come since bouncing balls provide the foundation of just about everything that we'll do in animation.

This week we had to create a bouncing ball animation that start from a standing stop, anticipates then acts like a normal ball after it takes off.

My first animation proper - bouncing ball

Here's my first 'proper' animation (excluding the drawn bouncing ball). It's a.... wait for it... 3D bouncing ball!

This is mainly to test our ability to time animation. There's no squash and stretch on the ball so it's purely about the timing and spacing.

Sorry about the crap camera quality, iSight doesn't seem to be too good for close-up stills so I'm going to try my video camera if I can find a tri-pod.
