Wow, I'm already at the end of term 2 of my animation course. It's gone so quickly!
I haven't posted much of what I've done this term partly because I haven't always been happy with how somethings turned out. I'll finish it and think it's good, but then when I get around to watching it again I can see it's full of problems and I kick myself. The old adage that an artist is never happy with his work is true for me.
Anyway, before I end up hating this one too, I thought I'd post my last assignment in term 2. It's a guy missing a bus (I'm hoping you'd be able to tell that without me actually telling you
)
This was only a 2 week assignment but still ended up being a fair amount of work. The idea was to show contrast between two emotions or two actions - in this case, him trying to wave the bus down, then being annoyed he's got to walk (I actually added a 3rd emotion in week 2 - the shock that the bus was going past him was a late addition to make sure the situation read properly rather than going straight into the wave).
I'm pretty happy with it (at the moment!) although there's areas to be worked on.
I've got a couple of weeks break now, then it's into term 3 where we'll be starting acting. That'll be exciting, at some point we'll start animating speech too. There'll only be 2 assignments next term (with each week building on the previous weeks work) so we're starting to make short films rather than just tiny clips. Cool stuff
Let me know all the C&C's for this weeks animation, I can only improve it when I know what people find wrong!
