The next stage of the process of my short film was to make an animatic; basically, moving storyboards. You may well have seen this on the extras of animated movie DVD's (Pixar usually includes them for example). The idea behind them is to quickly draw the film out, the collate them as a movie to get a sense of the timing, camera angles and so on. It helps you to check the film will work before spending millions animating it - but it applies to any animated film, not just big budget ones.
So here's my animatic. With storyboards you obviously have to use your imagination somewhat. I'm not much of an artist, but they aren't meant to be masterpieces luckily - many people used stick figures.
I don't know whether I'll put music to this or not at this stage, and the saw effect is very cheap and nasty, it's just there so you know roughly what will be there in the final thing.
Let me know what you think
I'm specifically looking for comments on the story, staging and timing.
Thanks
