Just a quick entry to update you on the progress of my short film. I've finished the layout, save for some very minor tweaks. My mentor has said she's happy that this layout is in a finished state now, so that's pretty good.
A layout is basically a walk-through of the film - you may have seen some of them on DVD's, Pixar usually include some. It has the sets, cameras and timing, but no character animation; the character just floats through it and since it has no rig, is just in the default T position throughout. The purpose of them is to make sure the timing of shots works and to provide some framework to start the animation later on.
I'll finish tweaking it this week, then I have one week off before 12 weeks of hard animation begins!
This is a H.264 file as usual, comments and critisisms welcome as ever
