I have an ip.board perpetual license (since 2005) big PLUS! and i recently bought ip.blog, ip.nexus and ip.downloads and im about to launch my site (holding till ip.board 3.2)
Im a consultant and my site will be used in the following way:
I will sale a digital course package to users and when a user pay he will gain access to a member only forum where he will get support for any questions he may have even after taken the course and share toughts with other members who also bought the course package. If user have a more personal related question regarding his company he may do so using the client support area. So for e-learning could be nicely use it.
Another scenario different from above is for youtube users that have many followers. They may user the IPS platform in this way:
have a blog where they can post youtube videos and/or podcast and generate news and content for followers.
Have their own forum section so they can intercat with their fans. A forum owner can offer this for free or as a package for sale.
I hope I made myself clear since english is not my main language.
