Bank Troubles

Posted by Starnox, 16 June 2006 · 70 views

Well the co-op is being a pain in the ass. I sent me application off to them on Monday and got a letter today asking for further proof of my identity and address (I have already given them my passport and a bank statement from Lloyds TSB). So apparently I can get into other countries with my passport but not open a bank account - great. Well I am having trouble proving my address/identity (maybe I should be worried?), my driving license will pass as a second proof for either my address or identity, but I can't find anything else. Living at home with my parents is a bit of a problem since all utility bills are made out to them. I don't have a credit card, and my car is registered to my sister.

On a lighter note I started stripping the wallpaper in my office. And we drilled holes in the ceiling for lights, however one of them isn't in-line (who was meant to check the measurement twice?).

So progress is slow, but hopefully I will get there in the end.

Get a business account with lloyds TSB grin.gif  Free banking for 18 months - plus you already have one account.

When I opened my account I only took my driving licence (both parts) and they even changed the address on my old account (which was registered at my old house where my grandma now lives)

Although, I didnt realise that free business banking, only means you dont get charged a monthly fee - still got a nice bill for cheque processing and stuff the other day - why didnt I just use a normal account sad.gif tongue.gif
I did look into Lloyds TSB, and I may try them if the co-op falls through. However the co-op allows you to cash x amount of cheques and cash a month for free etc. Which is nice.
Oh right. I just realised I made a mistake - when I said above that I got the bill for cheque procecessing etc - I didnt actually read that at the bottom the amount was not charged because I was within the first 18 months, stupid me for not reading
