Bug-a-boo

Posted by W1lz0r, 04 October 2006 - - - - - - · 37 views

Currently I am working on fixing Blog bugs and clean up any missing things. Things like the new Quick Edit en Fast Reply need to be put in the Blog as well. I find it important that there is a large amount of consistancy between the Blog and IPB itself.

Bugfixing can be very bad for your hair. Especially when you want to pull it out when you hit a bug that...

Welcome to Invision Community Blog 1.3

Posted by W1lz0r, 02 October 2006 - - - - - - · 58 views

Welcome to Invision Community Blog 1.3 beta 1. As many of you probably noticed; the Blogs are back up. I am happy to show you the first beta of version 1.3.

The most obvious changes are the use of the new RTE, new attachment management and the slightly changed header. But don't let the looks mislead you. There are many changes made to the core code....

IP.Blog 1.3 progress

Posted by W1lz0r, 27 June 2006 - - - - - - · 47 views

The next version of the Blog is still in heavy development. What has happened recently?

I have finished the new installer for the Blog. This installer uses the new IP Product Installer framework which is quite nice. However it still required a lot of work to change it so it could do installs and upgrades with logon etc. I am quite pleased with the end...

One-third of addicts are gamers

Posted by W1lz0r, 26 May 2006 - - - - - - · 12 views

This morning I heard on the news that one-third of the addicts being treatened in The Netherlands are actually game-addicts. And they report that this is the fastest growing group. The major problems these addicts face is the lack of eating and sleeping.

When I hear such a news-item is generally wonder why they report this now. Usually it means they want...

Oh no, I don't want to be notified

Posted by W1lz0r, 24 May 2006 - - - - - - · 13 views

The next version of the Blog is still very much in progress. The XML-RPC API is done now and is working nicely.

The next task I took onto myself was to clean up the code. What I mean with that is run thru the code and prevent any PHP notices. This sounds like an easy task, but in fact is a lot of work. There is a good thing about it. It is a good way to...

XML-RPC, MetaWeblog API

Posted by W1lz0r, 09 May 2006 - - - - - - · 46 views

I just finished up on the XML-RPC metaweblog API for the Blog. I guess it still has some rough edges, but those will be ironed out in due time.

This proved to be more complex then expected. I have been working with Matt and Brandon on IPB's (and converge's) XML-RPC api classes. These are very powerfull, but needed some changes to be able to use...

Oh no, not another interface

Posted by W1lz0r, 04 May 2006 - - - - - - · 17 views

Today saw the release of ICB 1.2.3. That version number kinda looks odd, but it is the logical next update. This version introduces a lot of (minor) bugfixes and the added bonus of new attachment tools in the AdminCP. These tools are simular to the attachment tools we all know from IPB.

So, is that all I have been doing lately? Not really and I have a...

You have been transfered

Posted by W1lz0r, 22 April 2006 - - - - - - · 22 views

I have not been updating my Blog a lot lately, so it is about time I let you know what is going on.

On the Blog side of things I am still working on some of the big changes I had in mind. I do not have anything to show yet. I can tell that the way the content of the Blog is managed will change. I am still in the proces of finding the best way to do what I...

"Ping" "Ping" "Who's there?"

Posted by W1lz0r, 02 March 2006 - - - - - - · 15 views

Time for a little update on the next Blog version's progress.

I have made a small change on how the RSS feeds work. Currently when guest viewing is disabled; RSS feeds will not work in most RSS readers (because they access the feed as guests). This could cause some confusion. I have added an Admin option to override guest permissions for RSS feeds....

Track back at you

Posted by W1lz0r, 16 February 2006 - - - - - - · 22 views

The next version of the Blog will feature (on popular demand) the possibility to moderate the trackbacks put on entries. This is to prevent mallicious users trying to post unwanted links via the trackback feature.

In the current version you can switch the trackback off to prevent it, but that is an all or nothing method.

The solution I have implemented...
