Welcome to Invision Community Blog 1.3

Posted by W1lz0r, 02 October 2006 · 134 views

Welcome to Invision Community Blog 1.3 beta 1. As many of you probably noticed; the Blogs are back up. I am happy to show you the first beta of version 1.3.

The most obvious changes are the use of the new RTE, new attachment management and the slightly changed header. But don't let the looks mislead you. There are many changes made to the core code. There are many new things in IPB2.2 that this version of the Blog makes use of. Overall I am pretty pleased with this release.

As usual I am allways interested in your thoughts. So feel free to comment on the changes made.

Yay!  I like new things and now we'll have a nice shiny new blog to go with a nice shiny new board!   grin.gif
I can't wait!  Off to play with the new features, hehehe......

Well I'm loving the way attachments are added, much easier this way and I know my members will be happy with it.  Only thing is I just went to edit this entry using quick edit and this is posted above it as I type this right now:

Many navigation improvement, nice design, great Job !

Just few things :
- Please keep in mind load optimisation (I still have a ticket open for my load average problem)
- Please add the possibility to have blog on a different server than forum : blog.domain.com. We just need an option and all pagination link (on blog list) using this option.
- The new uplaod is great ! Do you know why Gallery upload still not have an ajax waiting gif like on blog ?
- An option to allow few color and design modification for users would be also a great things (lowest priority).

Thanks again
Ben

EDIT : If I try to see the a href="."/../index.php?showuser=61509">Sunlite profile on this comment page, I go on my profile.
Yes I did not forget about your load ticket. It is something I am working on. However it is hard to find solutions without cutting on the feature set. There are still some bugs in this version which will be addressed asap. Thanks for your feedback.

A few thing's I've noticed:
  • Usernames are not bold like the forums
  • Old fast reply
  • The "card" and online buttons are still present, dispite the new profile drop-down also being there
  • Ratings doesn't use the blue highlighted star like in profile

Also, I cannot tell as I have not yet installed, but does it allow the new poll settings?
Great work m8.  I just have one request I can think of off the bat.

The ability for the admin to make 'published' the default and having a red warning that other cannot see draft entries.  SOOOOO many people do thier blogs without knowing others can't see the draft.  I spend all of my time sifting through and telling people they need to publish entries.  getlost.gif

EDIT:  One more.  It should give the next newest or next oldest entry option if there isn't one thumbsup.gif

Is there any way you folks might work on a feature that allows you to hide most of a blog post under a fold (that you can link into, obviously)? This would be very useful, I think. I'd like my blog posts to all look on the screen to be the same length.
