By now nobody could possibly miss the disaster that happened in Asia. Of all days it happened on the 2nd Christmas day.
After a couple of days of seeing the pictures on TV, I still can't imagine the destruction that took place. The amount of casualties still increase by the day. More then that you can imagine what you would do when that wave hit. I think I would not be able to do anything. When you see a 10 meter high wave coming at you on the beach you just cannot run fast enough...
But now when the bodies are still being counted I think about the future of these countries. For a lot of the countries the toerists are their major source of income. That is all gone now, and I just don't see it coming back any day soon. All the beaches are destroyed. This is a big aftershock which might just make things even worse.
The above is reason enough for me to donate some money to help the people over there. I encourage anyone to do the same.
