I'm waiting for my *first* domain name to propegate to my hosting, I've already uploaded IPB 2.1.1, but need NewAstronomy.com to point to my hosting before I run the install script... Once it gets up I will tell the freakin world! I can't wait.
But here's the story of why I'm even making an Astronomy site to begin with:
A few months back I was a member at the (former) bad astronomy bulletin board, which ran on phpBB2. The administrator was asking for suggestions and mine was to switch to IPB 2.0.x and I was rideculed for even thinkng of buying forum software. They all thought I could get perfectly good FREE Software... I kept trying to get the owner to use IPB but he said he wasn't going to switch... Eventually I got banned for phpBB bashing. So skip ahead two months now
The owner of the bad astronomy bulletin board announced a merger between Universe Today and Bad Astronomy Bulletin Board into one. I was hoping it would be running on IPB like I suggested but to my dismay he used the exact opposite of what I wanted him to! VBULLETIN!
Why the obsession? Because I hate phpBB and dislike vBulletin.
