Instead of talking more about the Nexus customization abilities, I'm going to talk a little about the general status of Nexus Development.
We've delivered the first downloadable beta of Nexus to our testers, and so far everything is going reasonably smooth. We've identified a few problems with the installer that will be addressed, as well as a few other minor issues.
We had planned to be at a public beta this week, but a few last minute feature additions caused us to miss that date. However, you can expect the public beta to begin early in January, which we're very excited about here. Assuming that public testing goes well, you can expect a final release to follow in the near future.
So we're in the home stretch for the first version, but there's much more to come after that. We're beginning to map out the 1.1 version, but we're going to wait for customer feedback before we finalize the 1.1 feature set. We plan to focus heavily on 'real' products with the 1.1 version, including inventory control, shipping, shopping cart, and more. We'll also round out and improve a few of the existing 1.0 features as well.
I'll be out of the office the rest of this week for Christmas vacation, but I'm looking forward to hearing your feedback when I return. I'd like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, and since this may be my last blog entry for the year, a Happy New Year as well!
