Adds a check during registration submission that checks the registers IP address and email address against a known list of spammer IP's and emails from stopforumspam.com. If it returns true for a spamming IP or email the registration is declined and the IP and email address can be added to IPB's ban filters. Whitelist and blocked registration has been added since conversion to an app.
FURTHER INFORMATION:
The ability to report spammers from the ACP was only added after a lot of discussion with pedigree from SFS. I have been in contact with him since the first release of this mod when it was still just a hook. It follows guidelines that he requested. Any abuse of the ability will lead to you being banned from using SFS. Please be responsible with this. It is only available to Admins and is in the ACP. It uses the memberSync function when using IPB's mark as spammer function.
I will continue to work with him and the changes he is implementing be sure this mod does not cause them any problems.

Fantastic - I have this for my vB sites, and was thinking I'd have to write a mod for it to use with IPB. And - VOILA - it's here... Thank you for porting this over for us.

Best security mod out there. So useful for spammers, banned members, or just those people that are too paranoid.
You should put "StopForumSpam" in the title to get more popularity with this modification. I was looking for that and luckily just saw this. Also you should do all of your writing that is displayed back while administering the board in tune with IPB for the professional feel. Thanks
Isn't the IPS Spam Service doing something similar to this?
Excellent Mod, my board has been hit by 20 spam registration in the last 2 days, just installed this Mod and am hoping this is the end of spam
I have noticed many past spammers that I have dealt with myself are listed in this database. I am getting hit with spammers daily so I have now installed this mod. I hope this takes care of my problem.
Wonderful hook. I had two or three spam registrations making it through the regular service per day, and every one of them was showing up in the stopforumspam database with an extensive history. Installed this hook, and not one spam registration has made it through since. Spending a lot less time researching, banning, and deleting spammers, and a lot more working on my site.

It does but with my hook you dont have to have an active IPS license to use it and the SFS DB is far more extensive as it gets IP reports from all forum types not just IPB.
