Download (Wolf) Global Header Message 32001
10 Votes
aka 'Call Out'
This version is BETA. This should work without flaws but please be mindful of the possibility of bugs.
This will generate a global message just like the one you see here about IPS being closed for Thanksgiving.
Options include:
- Enable/disable
- All groups or group selection
- Start/end date (time too if you know how to format it)
- Message itself
- Message options (bbCode, emoticons, HTML)
- CSS options (text color, background color, alignment)
- Option to use language bits instead of setting.
The start/end date is based on GMT time. Figured that would be the easiest way to handle it and to keep it simple.
Just install, navigate to system settings/hooks, adjust the settings and it's good to go!
CSS options
The text and background colors can be either in number or name format. If it's in number format, it will append the '#' to the front.
The alignment contains left, center, right and justify. Justify is only noticeable if the message will take up multiple lines. When this happens, justify will be 'left', but all lines except the last line will be spaced out to take the full width of the screen.
Language bit option
If you want or need to use language bits, add to public_global a bit named 'wolf_callOut_content' and it will use that bit if it's populated. Otherwise it will use what's in the hooks settings.
This has been tested on 3.2.2. It might be compatible with 3.1.x but I'm not sure. If you have 3.1.x and try it out, please let me know if it works for you or not.
