Is that the default skin? If it is...I dunno, I'm kind of partial to the current skin.

Yes that is the new default FF3 skin

It keeps changing every beta <img src=)' />

Hmm looks interesting I might switch back since those random lock up errors are gone.

If they are planning to release FF with this skin, then I will gladly wait someone to create a skin that looks like FF 2.0 ;)

Its still in BETA. Every new beta seems to have a different type of skin?

Well it's been in the alpha/beta since 2006, I'm sure they could come up with something better.

I don't mind the new skin.

I updated the firefox on my mac and my main machine

so far it's fairly decent. the download window certain is a different look compared to version 2 and 1.
the address drop down menu thing got alot bigger too.. lol.

but i like the look of it on the mac more than it does on a windows machine.

i've been using it for the windows machine for a few hours now and the one for the mac just updated. so i havent experience any lock ups yet. if i do i'll just revert back to 2.x but program instabilities are to be expected from a beta product..

so far so good tho.. :P

Yeah, I've been using Firefox 3 betas exclusively for about a month now and never had any lock-ups of any sort. There were a few random crashes, but the application as a whole is surprisingly stable - only a bit less than Firefox 2 from my own experience.

Parts of the new skin seem a bit ugly, but that's only a minor issue anyway. Seems to work great overall.

Firefox 3, and the new skin, seem to be a vast improvement for OSX... I've always considered it ugly and slow on Mac, but it's much better now. Probably still won't switch though.

BETA 2 was far more stable for me and it looked nicer as well. The theme on BETA 3 is gobfaecese

Haven't tried it much yet, but I sure hope it is. I'd be using it more frequently than v2 IF my plugins were compatible. Every single plugin I have doesn't work on the new FF... not that I'd expect it to. I've been using Safari over FireFox simply because FireFox 2 has been very unstable on my system, and I had bugs like when I pressed Command-A (Select All) in the address bar the page selected... very irritating. I only use FireFox when I need the web development tools and debugger. But if 3 is more stable and all my plugins worked, I'd be using it more frequently.

Yeah, I'll probably keep using Safari and Camino myself, only because Firefox will still be an XUL application and thus can't get all the OS services like system-wide spell-check, special characters, etc.

If the Beta 3 theme looks bad, it must be your computer, as it uses native system widgets to create a native look.

Yeah, plugin compatibility is pretty annoying. I've gotten by by hacking the install file and changing the compatibility of the plugins so that they'll install. No real side effects from doing that as far as I can tell.

Even if it's a Beta or not, I'm waiting for a modern design from the Mozilla Team. Firefox v2 looks better than v3.B3 but IE7 unfortunately looks better than both of them. Firefox's aim is not eye-candy I know, but today design is just as important as technology. There many users that steps back from switching to Firefox because of the interface.

To sum up, Mozilla Team is making it uglier instead of beautifying it.

 For a minute there I thought you said Firefox 2 looks better than Firefox 3  Is there really any difference? ...the answer you're looking for is: no!
As if you can say that, there's a few minor changes (unless I've downloaded some "duff version" of Firefox 3 Beta 3 <_< ) that is it!

There are still 4 bugs in it (have been reported of course :D {didn't report first time noticed it because I thought someone else will have beaten me to it}) from the first release :(
Besides the bugs, not bad :) ...not any great differences so am not too excited, just a few tweaks.

I'm talking about toolbars (new buttons are ugly) and address bar (such a chaos with all these stars, rss feed icon, favicon etc.). Anyway, if I'm facing the same old-looking interface after 2 major (v1 and v2) and a pre-major (beta) release, I can say that it's going worse (about skin) since there are no attempts for a better look.

Of course it's not that much problem as we can install the theme we want. However, it would be better to have a better default skin.

I'd rather not sort through a list of 1300 changes to Firefox 3 beta 3 so can anyone summarize what the main changes are between FF 3.0 B3 and FF 2.0.0.12? Thanks. :)

Eh? Updates are only released like once or twice a month, they install painlessly easy. What's the issue?

"They" who? I see the image, but not sure what you're referencing. I'll have to update my beta on my virtual machine...

As far as what z0mgpwnr said: "Did they change the tendency for FF to need a friggen update semi-hourly?...."
...referring to the automatic check that Firefox makes (on its own accord) a few times an hour...and when you run Firebug and it catches an error with the call........ :P It gets a little annoying. Hehehe.
