Have you been able to confirm that this works with php 5.3 on your end?

I've tried on my end using default php.ini on 5.2 and 5.3 and only 5.2 is working.

When I set the "Characters allowed in usernames" setting to that, it works properly. Choosing a name like 'test1234' works fine, and gives me no errors when registering. Choosing a name like 'test1234%' does give me the error "The name can only contain these characters: a-zA-Z0-9". You probably want to submit a ticket so we can see why this isn't working on your site.

I did some further testing and the problem occurs on php 5.3.1 but not php 5.2.12.

Username restrictions not fully working
Installed fresh 3.0.5 set username restrictions to a-zA-Z0-9 and when testing the registration my username character restrictions are not working properly.

Even just using the example IPB provides a-zA-Z0-9 it will not allow the username unless it only contains these characters specifically a, -, z, A, Z, 0, 9 instead of allowing a-z, A-Z, 0-9.

This has been occurring since version 3.0.3 previous to that it worked fine.

Is there going to be something released for 2.3.6 too?

Hello,

When is the 2.3.x series going to have PHP 5.3 support?

Thanks

You should submit a ticket in that case. That's what the support system is for.

I have no need to submit a ticket because I'm only using the 3 version on my test forum.

Only reason I submitted a bug report was to help you all out since it's obviously a bug of some kind.

Seems you're not interested though so forget I even mentioned it.

It's working fine for me.

Well it doesn't work for me and it was working fine prior to 3.0.2.

Manage ignored users
Annoying person sends me a message I immediately block the user via the "Manage ignored users".

Annoying person continues to post in the conversation and I keep getting the messages even with that user being ignored.

The only way that I see to stop this is to delete the conversation otherwise messages will keep coming regardless of the user being on the ignore list.

Also, once the user is on the ignore list and the conversation deleted the messages do stop however the ignored user can still add them to the conversation on their end without any errors this seems like a bug because I don't allow additional participants to join in conversations making further replies completely pointless.

You shouldn't be accessing your acp in a "shared environment". Not just that but someone will not just be able to obtain your session id it would take a fair amount of incompetence on the admin's end for that to happen.

I believe it tries matching by ip address.

Characters allowed in username
After updating to 3.0.2 I noticed when testing the registration my username character restrictions were not taking effect.

Even just using the example IPB provides a-zA-Z0-9 it will not allow the username unless it only contains -, a, z, A, Z, 0, 9 nothing other than those seem to work.

I'm also getting this error when attempting to update 2.3.6 to 3.0.2.

Did not have this error in 3.0.0.

Quoting them from the ticket "I've looked into this before and it's not that easy to resolve I'm afraid."

So it would appear that it was too difficult for them to do so they waited several years until IPB 3.

In other words they basically left their customers (who depend on the subscription manager) out to dry.

If history has taught you anything you should have known it was going to take a long time regardless of what they made it sound like.

One of the biggest bugs on the subscription manager was reported back in November 2007 and another back in July 2006 and those were just recently fixed on beta 1.

That alone should tell you nothing is going to happen quickly which is why I'm still on 2.3.6.
