  1. Nervosa added a post in a topic: Redundancy in IPB 3.2

At first I thought the avatar at the top was a bit much but it gives a nice header to the post.
The avatar in the reply wount be as bad once other people reply.
  2. Nervosa added a post in a topic: [Suggestion] FB Social Plugin

I noticed this on a site today and thought it would be really nice for gallery comments and extra comments for articles / pages (not so much forums)

You can eiter vist the link or look at the attached image.

This is a plug in that allows you to use facebook as your commenting system. I believe implementing something like this would be every helpful to every community. Allowing friends of users to see your site and content from yourself and maybe in-turn, become a new member.

Here is the FB page about it: http://developers.fa...lugins/comments

    Header not full width.
    Using Firefox 4.0.1
If your browser is smaller then the contents of the page, when you scroll right the header says fixed to the size you were viewing at.

Updates looking good although I'm not really feeling that burgundy. Maybe it will be better on an active site.
  5. Nervosa added a comment on a blog entry: New IPB Skin: Uniform

WOW, one of the best skins I have seen to date.
  6. Nervosa added a post in a topic: [Suggestion] Add YouTube videos.

If they could add the option to add off site videos, I don't think it would be much trouble to have some rights in the albums like, alow media: images, video, mixed.
  7. Nervosa added a comment: parse addtohead doesn't seem to work correctly

If not, maybe a "cleaner" way to add extra .css/js to pages. Calling them in the middle seems messy and unprofessional.
Maybe add a "extra files for header" field when creating pages, where meta keywords and descriptions are?
  8. Nervosa added a post in a topic: [Suggestion] Add YouTube videos.

How about an easy way to add YouTube videos to gallery? (or other media sites)
    Why?
    1. Saves on bandwidth.
    2. YouTube is more popular then your site. It would seem redundant for the user to add there videos to YouTube and your site when they can just use the media code in the forums.
    3. We can already embed videos in the forums.

Currently if we want to add a video from YouTube (or another site) we have upload a image and then link the video using the media code.
It would be a lot easier and more user friendly if there was an option somewhere "allow off site video".

Then when the user goes to upload they would see the same screen they see now with a new button "Click To Attach Embedded Media".
This will give them a screen with Title, URL Address, Description and Copyright. Same as the images but with add field URL acting as the media tag.

parse addtohead doesn't seem to work correctly
    http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/334631-parse-addtohead-questions/
Trying to use addtohead to add a .css and not getting the desired effect.
Guess it doesn't work in pages? If not that seems rather dumb.

  10. Nervosa added a comment on a blog entry: IP.Board 3.2.0: Tagging and Prefixes

    1. Will we be able to have pre-defined prefix per forum or is it only global?
    2. Will prefixes only be shown on forum view or will they be present on latest topics / IP.C ?
  11. Nervosa added a post in a topic: Suggestion: Allow users to remove themselfs.

Every so often I'll get a PM from a user saying they want to delete there account and I usually just ignore it.

I would like to give users the option to "remove" themselfs from the community, yet I would like to keep the content they made and have a record of the users info. Could there be an option for the user to sudo-delete themselves.

There would be an option in the user cp "close account".
Clicking this the user would have to re-enter there PW, read some text about how there posted content will say but there name avatar and other identifying markers will be removed (names will be changed to something like "deleted user" ) and they will no longer be able to access the account. Click a OK check box and hit enter.

The users name and other info about them would still be available to the admin, if it is ever needed.
Doing it this way will allow admins to reactivate the account in the event the user logged in at a library and someone managed to close the account.
  12. Nervosa added a post in a topic: Suggestion: Custom category images

There is a mod like this somewhere in the market place (doesn't have the css) and I would really like to see it be part of IP.B
I know not everyone would like custom images for each forum so maybe have an option to use the standard icons or individual ones.
  13. Nervosa added a post in a topic: Search everything in Content.

I believe this is one of the biggest problems with IPC, any plans to improve upon this in future versions?
Maybe there could be a stand alone search for IPC that will display the results by databases, could use some ajax to load the results when you click the databases (represented in my example by the spoiler tag)

    Databases A
    No results found for 'coffee'.

    Databases B
Your search for the term coffee returned 3 results

At first this looks like an improvement but we're still limiting the user to only one database and they still can get zero results, while data is in another section.
Why cant IP.C's search be like the forums?
When I search for something in the forms, it searches every forum. When I'm viewing topics in a sub forum, it changes to Search "this forum".
Cant IP.C search every database / article by default, then if I'm viewing one section it defaults to "search this"?
  15. Nervosa added a comment: FURL in media folder does not follow the same rules as the rest of IPB

Sorry for taking so long to get back to this.

[quote]There's nothing wrong with using underscores in an uploaded filename[/quote]
I'm not saying there is, but we should have to option to change the name if characters are going to get replaced when uploading.
I'm useing things like "category_furl_name" and "record_dynamic_furl" to define the name of an image. When I upload an image named "this-is-my-record.jpg" it turns into "this_is_my_record.jpg". Because of the change my templates cant find the images.
