Update, they got the site back up over 24 hours later.  The hard disk had a write error and some things got jumbled.  This was totally inexcusable for fully managed.  I am getting a new web host.

Thank you to everyone trying to help me.  I guess I need to brush up on my putty skills.  I already have and tried the puttygen and couldn't get it to work.  Putty kept rejecting my pass code for my key file.  But now I can set up both private and public putty keys without having to hotwire things.  Whew!

I use neither. :(  I disable all that stuff and delete it for security and speed.  I have to go get my allergy shot before they close since I am 2 weeks late.  And the cats need food.

I was just messing with putty key generate.  Didn't work...  Sigh....

Can you help me?  I use  ssh over sftp with smartftp with a key file and do not allow passwords via whm controls.  I have full access to all my files.  Anyways, putty wants a putty key file that ends in ppk.  I tried making a new copy of my key file with that extension and it didn't work.

Can you believe that I have a fully managed server (thus why my skills are rusty)?  Snicker.....  Snicker....

This is what I originally thought also, but corruption from them throwing the switch was something I entertained along with the bajillion other things floating through my noggin   LOL..

Oh and they did get back to me, and no they can't, "throw the switch".

My webhosting company was sold and this new owner is worthless.  This is a very stressful situation to be in.  Mine is fully managed, yet my site has been down since 3 PM yesterday.

I am worthless configuring putty and a SSH key file, since it has been a while since I ran unmanaged.  (Guess I have to read up.)  But I do have access to my files, is there anything I can do?

For starters, I am trying to cover all the bases here.  My perpetual license is showing expired, would they have disabled my websites software?  Can they even do this?  I asked customer service but they never responded.

, This is my error message:

My WHM and cpanel will not load either.  I can use Sftp to see all my files and my logs show no issues.  Although I can see all my files, my VPS says that it is not running in Solus.

The private messages sent out can't be responded to. Nor do they show in my conversations. This causes panic when the winner can't respond.

I mentioned another bug earlier. Is this being addressed?
  8. Lab Rats Rule added a post in a topic: Any plans to make editor in IP.Board 3.4 series IE11 compatible?

Well, Right now I am using Bitdefender and its browser bar conflicts with MAB active protection in IE. But not the MAB scanner. Not certain if I want to keep using Bd or not. Likely will.... BD has been coming up perfect or near perfect for monthly zero day comparison testing at AV Comparatives. And steadily 100% at a lab in Europe. Kaspersky let me down big time... But Hitman pro runs fine with BD.

On a good note, in paranoid firewall mode I have found out that there isn't much of anything in windows that doesn't phone home. Plus is gathering aggregate data on everyone and whisking it off regularly.. But Microsoft insists that it is on approval by the user only. Well, if no one knows about this, then how did anyone approve? I shut that baby right down in task scheduler and its service.

Even IE phones home for every download if you want to prevent malware. This one is not enabled though.. So you have a choice, privacy or malware.. Groan....

Actually I finally switched to Firefox from IE and got burned for the first time in my life.

This NSS Labs has a report that costs oodles of money that will tell us what security set up will 100% prevent Malware.   Most of their stuff is expensive, these 3 reports were free.

Actually this article proves to me that I should only use Firefox for my own website only.

Actually, according to NSS security labs,  IE is the most secure browser where Malware is concerned. For phishing it is a tad lower.  I am more concerned about malware.

I won the Paypal claim. :).

And rightly sooo.... Why should anyone get my money for doing nothing in return? And for taking my money without authorization at that.

I now also have google cache of the purchase page, and the mention of automatic Paypal deductions was not mentioned in the May of 2013 version of her site.  But it is mentioned now, how about that?

    I purchased mine in 2012.

Ok now...  Looks like I have multiple invoices in emails as proof that she kept generating new ones as I cancelled them.  There is a ton of them!  Heck I was even getting them in June, July etc... after she took my $75 for a supposed 6 months in march.

So far I count 21 emails, and like I said, I kept cancelling the invoices.

Can anyone help me with this?  I don't use the subscription service for IPB, so I am clueless.  But I purchased a 6 month membership at a site that uses IPB, and everytime I went in and cancelled a renewal invoice, a new one would be generated some time after the fact.  I have 21 emails at least over many many months.  And somehow they managed to charge me against my wishes.  I guess if they try hard enough....    My husband paid my credit card bills so I never noticed it until now.

Also, when I looked under my invoices at that site there were none paid since 2012 even though I had a 2013 charge.

You know all I wanted was my money back, and she has made this more difficult for herself.  She even accused me of scamming her.
