I experience that my IPS driven site is very slow and each page takes seconds to load. I have a managed server and contacted the support and they say no load on the server but they did see one SQL query that took ~10 seconds. This is one of them, any idea on how to improve performance? Is it a bug?
| 541038 | db_ipb | localhost | db_ipbutf8 | Query | 5 | Copying

xxx ON ( xxx.tag_cache_key=MD5(CONCAT('forums',';','topics',';',t.tid)) ) WHERE
t.forum_id=72 AND t.pinned IN (0,1) AND ( t.approved=1 ) ORDER BY t.pinned DESC,
t.last_post DESC LIMIT 0,30
To make it clear for users there should be a "Solved" tag/indication in the View New Content for the topics that have a "best answer" as well as in the Recent Topics hook in the sidebar, or preferably ACP options for activating this.
Cannot agree more. I hit this issue today. Un-archiving hundreds of topics manually is not an option, as is un-archiving all topics then move the topics only to enable archiving once again when the move is done. I cannot delete a forum section either without un-archiving all. 3.4.0 must contain a remedy for this.
Sort of, it is finished (RTM) and has been released through some channels such as MSDN, TechNet and for businesses with license agreements with Microsoft. So it is out there now, but the official launch when you can purchase Windows 8 and hardware with Windows 8 is set for October 26th.
So now that Windows 8 has been released with IE10 there is one major bug in the editor of IP.Board which basically makes the [Enter] key not working meaning you cannot get any line breaks in posts, PMs etc.
You can make it work in IE10 by pressing F12 and setting the Browser mode to IE9 and Documents Moder to IE9 Standards. For a more permanent and general solution you must edit the templates, go to globalTemplate and look for the row:
...and you have a fix until IPS fixes this problem in their code. <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=Edge" />
change this to...
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE9" />
