Problem: SFS mod no longer queries SFS for email/ip look ups.

Is there a specific port or IP address that this mod uses that I can troubleshoot to find out if I have it blocked or if the upgrade process is borked?

I just need to see why the mod is no longer communicating with SFS

Thanks

PSS

Just curious OP, what tables do you delete to completely uninstall in order to start fresh?

I have a corrupted install from years ago using the original subscription manager. When I uninstall, it does not remove all the mysql tables.

Do you have a list of tables?

Thanks.
3. Frontpage added a post in a topic: Allow Disabling of Multiple Image Sizes

Another issue is that Google is spidering the different image sizes by following the #imageOptions link leading to duplicate content issues as well.
4. Frontpage added a post in a topic: IP.Board & The Forum Will Be Dead Within 5 Years

You got me.

I have a hard time comparing a forum site with declining visits only measuring in the thousands over a span of time versus a social media site with hundreds of millions of visits that are increasing in the same period.

A better example would be if we collected all the forums on the internet and measured their popularity over the same period.

My post reflects that interest in Invision as seen by participation in its own forums is waning over time. Not a good sign.

OP raise a valid point with respect to the role of social media and the decline in forum discussion participation. It is a paradigm shift in social discourse.

Let us compare Invision Power versus Facebook using Compete.

6. Frontpage added a post in a topic: Download: [HQ] Google CSE -lite-

I am running IPB 3.3.0 and get the same eval() error. Disabled hook.
7. Frontpage added a post in a topic: Subscriptions Manager

Had to uninstall Subscription Manager with the update to IBP 3.3.0.
8. Frontpage added a post in a topic: Classifieds

I too got the database error after upgrading to IBP 3.3.0 and uninstalled the Classifieds app. The forum working is priority.
9. Frontpage added a post in a topic: Login problems

Not for me either.

Had to use the "Lost Password" function to get a new password.
10. Frontpage added a comment on a blog entry: IP.Board 3.3 Dev Update: A few more SEO tweaks

Another issue that could be addressed is the over abundance of duplicate links to profiles and threads on the main forum page. This can cause SEO penalites for too many URL links per page especially for large forums.

Examples of excessive links on main page:

1) the "By Forum Member" link
2) the forum members mini icon link
3) the "Yesterday, 9:36 PM" link

Examples of excessive links on thread page

1) Two links to a profile per thread post (member name and member avatar).
2) One link to member mini icon on thread header

So that is three links pointing to the same profile for just one post.

The only thing I noticed was this difference in the code when compared to other hooks.

yours:

if ( !$this->memberData['member_id'] )
others:
if ( $this->memberData['member_id'] )

The difference is the ! exclamation point. I am not familar with that !, what's its purpose?

Thanks Michael,

I will check that code to see if its proper.

As I have said, I have checked with a variety of computers using Firefox from different IP's and all get the same result. IE works though. So, its a mystery to me.

I am inclined to uninstall and reinstall to see if clears it up.

Just wanted to check to see if perhaps it was a hook problem.

Here is the list of hooks installed, any missing?

Subscriptions Manager v1.1.2

Subscriptions: User Drop Down Link v1.1.2
Subscriptions: Check For Package v1.1.2
Subscriptions: Complete Registration Form v1.1.2
Subscriptions: Current Subscriptions Badge v1.1.2
Subscriptions: Register Form v1.1.2

FF is set to delete cookies when the browser closes, I will runn CCleaner and see if that clears it.

If I could only understand what is supposed to happen when you click /subscriptions/ it would help.

It seems to think I am not logged in and it diverts me to index.php?app=core&module=global&section=login

Enter my log in details and it goes back to the log in.

So, somewhere it is not passing along my credentials.

Thanks for the tip, I made sure that all I am running is Firefox with no adblocking, host file blocks.

I reran my User Agent Management rebuild to make sure it was not a user agent issue.

For whatever reason, Firefox chokes on this script. IE, Chrome, Safari work fine.

I even build a new template without any customization and disabled all hooks and it still does not work with Firefox.

I guess its time to migrate to Nexus.
