Problem solved. Just to give information for future use:

My server had SMTP_BLOCK = 1 by default. This block any outgoing SMTP.

All you have to do is access your WHM -> Plugins -> ConfigServer Security&Firewall -> Firewall Configuration.

Change SMTP_BLOCK to 0 and restart the Firewall (you can do this in the same page).

    Thank you all.

    Good point.

I will check if the porst is somehow blocked!

    Thanks!
  3. FabioPaz added a post in a topic: [RESOLVED] Mandrill integration don't work anymore

    Hello,

I already used Mandrill + IPB before, but it's simply not working this time.
Look at my E-Mail Setup screen:

PS: I'm 100% sure that the username and password are correctly.

    What could be happening ?
    Thank you!
  4. FabioPaz added a post in a topic: Members "can't" validate to complete registration

Hello my friends, I'm receiving some complaints of people getting "errors" when clicking the registration validation link via e-mail.

Looking at the Members Management/Validating tab, there's 18 pages of people stuck in the validation. (I manually validate people stuck from time to time, so I know that 18 pages is a little out of ordinary).

In an attempt to find the error, I used the same e-mail host than most stuck and tried to register and validate via e-mail (several times), but everything went fine. Didn't find any errors...

Could this be a common problem that I never heard before or people are - curiously - doing something wrong trying to validate ? Any ideas ?

    Thank you!!!

    Hello Andy,

Unfortunatelly, I don't remember what version I started using invision.

But looking in my "uploads" directory, I actually have monthly subdirectories, but only with attached files (that is the minority) and in the main "uploads" folder I still have a massive number of pictures, with av- and photo- prefixes.

    Thank you
  6. FabioPaz added a post in a topic: IPB Upload directory. Great I/O killer ?

    Hello,

Talking with my hosting support, they told me to look into the invision power upload folder that have 116572 files (boardurl.com/upload). That this could be a great I/O killer, decreasing server performance.

He suggested to me that I should create a date based structure with no more than 100 files per folder. But this is manually impossible

What do you guys think about this ? My hosting is overreacting or this is, indeed, a bad idea and IPB should do a structure more like wordpress (date based) or there's some configuration that I didn't see ?

(Just for the sake of information, my board have 150.000 users with a lot of attached images, avatars, etc...)

    Thank you!

    Hello,

Disabling  Cloudflare's "Mirage 2" feature, solved the problem.

Anyway, I will give amazon a chance sometime :D

Thank you and have a nice day
  8. FabioPaz added a post in a topic: All forum images don't show up for Internet Explorer users

Talking with maxcdn support, they told me that even the images that aren't being shared withing the CDN are not showing in the Internet Explorer.

And if you use compability mode you see the images like always (true)

Do you have a similar trouble with CDN Dmacleo ?

    Thank you
  9. FabioPaz added a post in a topic: All forum images don't show up for Internet Explorer users

    Hello,

I'm receiving a lot of complains of people that can't see any image of the forum with Internet Explorer, but when they logout and login, they can see again.

    Any suggestions ???

I use IPB with maxcdn and cloudflare. Could this be the cause of the problem ?

    Thank you

    Great! Thank you

Just one little question: It is better to turn the board off-line (via Admin CP) to convert the tables to innoDB ?
  11. FabioPaz added a post in a topic: Is better to convert every table to MyISAM or just some of them ?

What do you mean about innoDb settings ? I thought I just have to change to InnoDB

(my knowledge is very limited in this area).

    Hello,

According to my host, the major performance problem are tables (or queries ?) getting locked.

    | 28571 | XXXXX | localhost | XXXX | Query | 0 | Locked | INSERT INTO ibf_content_cache_posts

    | 32856 | x | localhost | x | Query | 1 | Locked | SELECT p.*,m.member_id as mid, m.name ,m.member_group_id,m.email,m.joined,m.posts, m.last_visit, m.las |

    | 32859 | x | localhost | x | Query | 1 | Locked | SELECT m.*, m.member_id as my_member_id,p.*,pp.*,g.*,ccb.cache_content FROM ibf_members m LEFT JOIN |
    | 32860 | x | localhost | x | Query | 1 | Locked | SELECT p.*,m.member_id as mid, m.name ,m.member_group_id,m.email,m.joined,m.posts, m.last_visit, m.las |

    I run the IPB on a dedicated server with 16GB ram, i7-3770 (4x3.4GHz 8MB).

    Sphinx + Cloudflare + MaxCDN

    Thank you for your attention.
  14. FabioPaz added a post in a topic: Handling email requirements for busy forum

    This topic saved my day.

I was having all kinds of troubles with the volume of emails my IPB sends. I was even "banned" from microsoft.

Now, with mandril (via SMTP), all the users are receiving the emails perfectly.

    Thank you very much.
  15. FabioPaz added a post in a topic: Is better to convert every table to MyISAM or just some of them ?

    Hello,

Searching on the forum I came to the conclusion that InnoDB can boost my mysql performance.

Ok, but I have to convert every table or it's better to convert just some of them and leave the rest as myIsam ?

Another question. I'm considering running MariaDB too. Can I continue to use myphpadmin with Maria, since it's the "sucessor" of mysql or I will have to everything via SSH ?

Thank you and have a nice day!
