    I just tested this on IP 4 beta, if you set your image processing to image magick (php extension installed of course), it won't strip the profile. I actually don't think GD 2 even supports profiles.

    I'm also interested in switching, i must have totally overlooked the newer skin.
  4. munkiman added a post in a topic: API calls and other questions

    First, I need to have an automation tool pass variables to IP.C to create/update records for me. Is this possible through API calls like it is with the Forums app? I can't seem to find much info on it. If not, what would be the best way to go about this?

    Second, I need to generate previews for attached PDF files. Would this be best to do by parsing a custom php page (using something like exec for imagemagick) to a url in a field in the DB? Like the preview/thumbnail link for any other image?

    Thanks
  5. munkiman added a post in a topic: More Database woes

    Im trying to pull single flle upload file names from the customDB again it;s a case of grabbing for another DB in a DB template. I'm completely at a loss why this doesn't work...

    <!-- Start Collection Block --> <if test="$record['field_34'] !== 0"> <php> ////explode into an array and count//// $gameArray = array_filter(explode(',', $data['record']['field_34'])); if(is_array( $gameArray ) && count( $gameArray ) ) { $this->settings['gamesCount'] = count( $gameArray ) -2; } ////assign the array to a global var//// $this->getRecord = $gameArray; $this->DB->build( array( 'select' => 'field_12', 'from' => 'ccs_custom_database_1' ) ); $result = $this->DB->execute(); $getArt[] = $this->DB->fetch( $result ); </php> <foreach loop="$this->getRecord as $getArt"> <td> <img src='{$this->settings['upload_url']}/{$getArt['primary_id_field']}' class='myimageclass'> </td> </foreach> </if> </if> Right now it's returning 5 "8's"... The number, i assume, is the first number of each array since each item in the array starts with 8. Help?

    Yes, it works perfectly! Thanks again!

    You were right it was a string, but also i wasn't getting the string, so it returned a blank array. Here's the code:

    <php> $memberID = ($record['member_id']); $dbQuery = $this->DB->buildAndFetch( array( 'select' => 'field_34', 'from' => 'ccs_custom_database_6', 'where' => "member_id={$memberID}" )); $activity = $dbQuery['field_34']; $_activity = explode(',', $activity); if(is_array( $_activity ) && count( $_activity ) ) { $this->settings['my_fieldCount'] = count( $_activity ) -2; } </php> The $activity = $dbQuery['field_34'];  bit was what i was missing. Thanks so much for all your help!

    I still only get '1' as a return value. I'lll have to try more with this in the AM It's 9PM my tme and i have to get up @ 3:30 am. Please let me know if you have anymore ideas! Thank you so much for helping me fix this 'oh so simple issue'...

    I get no direct error,in code however i get this at top:

    I want to clarify further that " $memberID = ($record['member_id']);: when i echo is returning the correct id.
    "$activity = $this->DB->buildAndFetch( array( ..." $activity is retuning "Array" on echo.
    and fieldCount is returning 1, no matter how many arrays are stored, which on return is this ",839,837,838,836,840," for member_id 1, if i'm searching for that id.

    I'm going to go completely backwards here:
    Since i know i can return a value....

    <php> $memberID = ($record['member_id']); $activity = $this->DB->buildAndFetch( array( 'select' => 'field_34', 'from' => 'ccs_custom_database_6', 'where' => "$memberID" )); if(is_array( $activity ) && count( $activity ) ) { $fieldCount = count( $activity ); } echo $activity; </php> <td style="text-align:center; width:100px; font-size:13px; font-weight:bold;"><if test="$activity >= 1">{$activity}</td> <else />{$fieldCount}</td></if>
    The return on echo $activity; is "Array", which is exactly what i would expect, based on what echo returns. Now, please tell me where to put the return for print_r based on this, or any other code i can C&P, since i'm apparently not seeing this, every print_r i put in gives me a parse error. The echo
    is returning something, an Array, since echo cannot return the contents of an array *from what i tend to understand* i'm assuming a print_f does?

    Unfortunately, I'm getting everything back i would expect based on the variable i have defined, except for count. When i explode/implode i get a ton of errors, most likely since i'm not sure how to implement them in html parsing.
  12. munkiman added a post in a topic: Possible to compare 2 database fields?

    I can tell you what returns on $memberID, it's exactly the ID in the DB, say ($record['member_id']); returns 421 for example, that's the member_id in the DB.

    $activity returns array.. at least with echo, which is what i would expect. Since echo doesn't return the values in array, just that it's an array.

    Both say the same thing, basically print_r() or print_record()

    i get nothing on print_r($activity)

    I get print_r() at the botom

    ok, so i did that and now i;m getting "0' i'm completely at a loss, exploding $activity made it less possible... I'm so sorry I wish i knew this transcribe to php better.
