... Until he upgrades, uses the plugin, and the plugin author abandons the plugin prior to the next release. This setting would be a small and easy implementation for IPS and should be in the core IMO.
No problem, understandable. I'm just trying to wrap my head around what Pages is exactly. I haven't renewed my license yet so I haven't had a chance to download the betas and play around with Pages. But I'm concerned by the feedback about Pages that I've read here and elsewhere... Is there something specific (and major) that could be done with Content before, that cannot be achieved with Pages now?
People are getting their panties in a twist because: 1) You can't plan a new project based on what "might" be sorted out in future releases 2) You can't upgrade an existing forum with key features missing that your community currently relies upon. 3) We don't have a proper changelog that lists what has been added, changed or removed. People don't like unpleasant surprises (at least I don't). None of the above implies that 4.0 is no good. Quite the opposite.
I'm astounded by some of the features that have been removed in 4.0. And that's just from reading a few threads in the last 5 minutes.... Can IPS please provide a list of ALL the features of 3.X that were removed in 4.0? This would greatly aid myself and many others to decide whether to move forward with 4.0. I don't want to spend days or weeks reading the random threads here in order to find out what was removed and if the software does what I want it to do. A list in one place makes more sense. Thanks.
There is definitely a bug here. When I perform a search, and then click on the second page of results, "Error code: 1C205/3 " is triggered. Clicking on the second page of results does not constitute another search, yet the error message tells me that I need to "wait 2 seconds before attempting another search". Clearly a bug.
I'm considering renewing and/or purchasing another IPS license, but first I have a quick question... I'm aware of some modifications that facilitate the simultaneous creation of forum accounts when a user creates an account in wordpress; As far as I know, these modifications also allow users to be automatically logged into the forum when they log in via wordpress and vice versa. However, does this functionality apply if I have multiple wordpress blogs under different sub-domains and/or folders on the same domain as the forum? In essence, I have a website that has several niche-related blogs on both subdomains and in folders on the same domain. I'm wondering if it is possible to add an IPS forum to this domain and allow the member accounts for the one forum to be created via the several blogs? For example: Wordpress user accounts from Fly-fishing-WP-Blog.Fishingdomain.com + Trout-Fishing-WP-Blog.Fishingdomain.com + Fishingdomain.com/Deep-Sea-Fishing-WP-Blog +etc, etc... --------------------------------> All automatically get accounts and share a login on Forum.Fishingdomain.com
