I will try to explain to you few of your questions. When I first got in touch with IP.Content I was shocked. Everything look very complex and difficult. But after spending many hours I understood the scheme whats behind IP.Content and know I am very surprised how powerful IP.Content can be!
So here are some answers to your questions:
Pages are good for two things:
You can create with a page static html content (with or without a forum wrapper) an put normal html stuff in it
You can create the static "template" for your article page, but for that you need to put the variable for articles and blocks in it
Templates are for the design of your blocks, media, databases and articles. Not the whole site, because this is done with pages see above, templates only change the look for the articles, or list of articles
Articles are ... just an article with your content. When you have a page with the variable to show articles, they will bw shown on this page using the articles template from point 2
That is a little bit confusing at the beginning, but after working some time with IP.Content you will get it :)
Let's see - I think a custiom template shouldn't be a problem. I can use the example temapltes from the media default template to see how to access the datas from the database I. But How do I access any other IP.Content database. Is there some example code snippet for that?
I started to get in touch with IP.Content. It is a fantastic app, but you need a looooot auf time to get into it :) But hey, I have time so it's not an issue.
Right now I try to build a database in IP.Content (so far so good). No I try to do a simple calculation with data from some database field. Also I think I need more than one database to get what I want :)
I try to give an example:
Database I fields:
ID - Name - Credit
Database II field:
ID - Database I ID - Date - Action - Comment
So in database I I will enter some names and a stard credt for example:
1 - Benny - 100
In database II I will enter some events like:
1 - 1 - 1/1/2014 - +50 - Payment
1 - 1 - 2/1/2014 - -50 - purchase
No I want to show an chart within IP.Content the credits of my members. For this I should take the start credit (here 100) and subtract / add all events from database II
In this case the final chart should show:
Name - Credit
Benny - 100 (100+50-50)
So my question now is:
thanks for your help. But this isn't what I am looking for. I am looking for a solution when I upload an attachment image within a post to choose then if I like to have the full sized image or just an thumbnail.
So my questions is with the attachment system attached images and not with "the image button" within this editor.
I just converted my community from XenForo to IP.Board. Everything is great here and works just fine. But I am missing one feature I used a lot on XenForo:
Is there a possibility that I can choose when adding an image to a post in which size it will be added. So that I can choose to add the thumbnail or add the full sized image (limited to max width of the post container).
Even better imho is the way vBulletin does it in their newest version. There you can double klick on an inline image an choose what size, which align etc it should have.
So my quetion, is there an option to do that on IP.Board, too?
