I'd also like to know if this works for 3.4.6. Also, will it be updated for 4.0 without repurchasing?
  2. Jombi added a post in a topic: Which SSH Client you use?

I exclusively use PuTTY.  However, when I was at UNL, we were taught on SSHSecureShell .

If you have that many unique registered users visiting per day, I'd go with self-hosting.  But registered users are different than page views.  I pay about $3/month for hosting, and own an IPB license.  So I find it much easier on the pocket.  However, if you don't feel confident in managing your own stuff, you can always go with the IPS hosted stuff.

    Beautiful!

Would be nice to see some more icons.  Even if they're not strictly social media icons.  Twitch.tv, steam, xfire, Teamspeak, Ustream, Minecraft, etc.
  6. Jombi added a post in a topic: [HQ] Awards

I searched a little but didn't find what I wanted.  Can we add more functions for auto-awarding?  Such as:
User registered for 1 year, 2 years, etc Total online time, 20hrs, 30hrs, etc 30, 40, 50 PMs sent 20, 30, 40 Topics created etc.
  7. Jombi added a post in a topic: Awards System

^^ this and possibly some type of sideblock option to view latest awards.

    This actually looks really cool...
  9. Jombi added a post in a topic: Link available only once per day

    Hello all,

I am working on a large project for my forum at the request of my users.  However, I'm really not that great at creating plugins for IPB, and I'm also not sure if I should hard code it by hand, or use plugins.  At any rate, neither piece exists yet.  I would be posting this on the jobs board, but I haven't worked out all the details for the entire project yet.

As the thread title says, I am looking for a way to show a link on my forum once a day for each user.  They can see it all day before they click it, but once they click it, it doesn't come back until the next calendar day.  I plan to use this in some how-to's to teach the new members how to functionally use our forum.

Is there anyone willing to help me out with this?  The full project will be in the $150-$250 range once I find someone interested.
  10. Jombi added a post in a topic: Change a single URL

Forgive me if this is in the wrong subforum.

Is it possible to mask a single URL in iPB/apache?  I have a link www.website.com/forum/index.php?t=123 that I want to always show as www.website.com/page123.  Whenever I click the link, I want to see the target format, as well as after I'm already viewing the page.

Any tips?  I just want to do it to 1 URL.

Edit: Guessing its something to do with ModRewrite?
  11. Jombi added a post in a topic: Show "OP" on the thread starter inside thread

Yup, and nobody made it.  There's always a way to make something into a hook. Don't know how to do it myself, so I do it this way.

    Very nice

    Glad you guys like it.
  12. Jombi added a post in a topic: Show "OP" on the thread starter inside thread

I had some members request a feature we had on our old VBulletin site - the "OP" next to the topic starter's name in each of his/her posts in that particular topic.  I looked around on these forums, but didn't come across anything like it (I may have missed it).  I'm hoping this helps someone else looking for the same thing:

    Topic View > post template
    <if test="postMid:|:$post['author']['member_id']"> <h3 class='row2'> </if> <else /> <h3 class='guest row2'> </if>   Change to: <if test="postMid:|:$post['author']['member_id']"> <h3 class='row2'> <if test="$topic['_starter']['member_id'] == $post['author']['member_id']"> <span class='op-label' title='Topic Starter'>OP</span> </if> <else /> <h3 class='guest row2'> </if> .op-label {     display: inline-block;     border-radius: 4px;     padding: 0 4px;     line-height: 16px;     font-size: 10px;     font-weight: 700;     color: #fff;     background: #115ec0;     vertical-align: middle;     margin-right: 4px; } Here's what it looks like on my forums:

Really surprising that someone would buy this when its a 5 minute html job in the template editor.

What's the chances of you making a sorta "sandbox" app to filter threads that have a checkbox selected upon creation?

    1. Michael

I don't understand what you mean, but I'm not likely to make any new mods until all of my old ones are updated.

Suppose a user makes a thread. At the right side of the editor where it asks you to follow it, etc, could there be a check box to filter the thread by? Such as "NSFW". And if the thread has that selected, users can choose to filter out those flagged threads from their searches.
