I used VB and switched to IP right before the VB4 "upgrade". Didn't like the looks of it and started shopping around, and was pointed over here. I am glad I made the switch. I do not know a lot of code or anything extra, so ease of use is a plus.. and to top it off, IP is much more tight knit and integrated, and incorporates other social aspects seamlessly.

Was also bummed that I missed this.

    Holding out.
  5. DarkStarr added a post in a topic: Thanks!

Just wanted to say a quick "thank you" to the developers behind IP.Board and associated applications. Coming from VBulletin 3.8 and not wanting more of the same from VB 4, I'm glad I made the switch. It's refreshing to see an updated forum software that's not the same old traditional "blocky" forum with traditional forum terminology. I think the modern look coupled with easy integration of other products and hooks as well as the social network integration makes it a great product that can help bridge the gap between social networking and discussion forums.

Anyway, I've just been reading posts and saw all the bickering from others, but coming from VB, I have nothing to complain about!

Would be interested in purchasing if not for the $70 price tag!

I believe you had already taken care of that. I just wanted to update the thread with a resolution.

    Thanks for your help!

LDAP and some other external authentication system was activated but not configured.

I looked into my conf_global.php as did my server admin and cannot find anything obvious. He also was baffled as to why apache is trying to connect.

    Hello all,

I am a new convert from VB 3.8 and I must say that I am absolutely in love with IP.Board and associated applications!

I have had a few hiccups in the conversion process for which I have submitted issues/tickets, but this one seems to be semi-prevalent.

Some of my users are unable to log in with this issue:

    Any help would be appreciated.

IP.Content as home page login issue.
I am a recent convert from Vbulletin 3.8 and am absolutely in love with IP.Board so far.

I purchased IP.Content to use as a home page to display articles and news content.

I have followed the instructions on how to make IP.Content my home page. My boards are located in /board and have uploaded the IP.Content index to my root, and changed over the paths needed.

My problem is that when a user first goes to my website (http://www.westernpariders.com), and they are taken to the IP.Content index, is that they are not signed in, nor can they actually sign in on this landing page. When clicking any other tab, they are shown as signed in or can sign in if not already, and then when clicking the "Pages" tab again, everything works fine.

It has been noted that if you right click "Sign In" and open in a new tab/window, that it works fine.

I have downloaded this hook and enabled the option to view on sidebar, but when I try to change it back to not display, it will not save my settings and remains in place.

Other than that issue, it's pretty cool.
