  1. Gaarawarr added a post in a topic: Highlight Authors/Usergroups Posts

Marking usergroups on the actual Topic List is really the functionality I'm looking for.  Any chance this might be updated to include that or is that a completely different mod?

Uninstalled/Re-installed and it worked like a charm again.

    Thanks for your help!

I apparently have an issue with the new version.

After I export a block as a hook, in my case for Forum headers, it appears on every Forum I have regardless of which one I select for it in the Settings.  I don't know if it's saving the Forum setting after I select it.

All my pre-upgrade versions of exported hooks work fine as I use these throughout my site.

Thanks again for your help with this Marcher.  Any idea if you'll be able to add the BBCode back in for 3.4 at some point?

Does this work in the current version of IP Board/Content?  I purchased it but can't seem to get it working.  I'm not amazing with code, but it seems to look like the demo code so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong at this point.
  6. Gaarawarr added a post in a topic: Looking for help with Member Group code

    Hi everyone!

I've been trying to figure out how to code in a couple features based on specific Member Groups but so far the solution has eluded me.  I'm fairly new to this and trying to teach myself, so that's probably one of the bigger problems.

Anyway, here's what I'm trying to figure out how to do:
Pull all posts from a specific Member Group from across all the forums/sub-forums and dump them in chronological order into a new forum (or their own special page).  I spent some time experimenting with the built-in functions of IP.Board but couldn't seem to get it to do this.  Then I tried a couple other things through IP.Content but couldn't seem to get it to work.  I blame my lack of coding knowledge as I've seen this done on another forum, I just can't seem to figure out how they did it. Mark a thread when a specific Member Group has posted in that thread.  Similar to the way the forums automatically mark a thread when you have posted in it, except I want it for an entire Member Group and for everyone to be able to see it.  I tried to find the code for the one that marks it for you, but couldn't seem to figure out where it was to try and modify it. If anyone can help me out with either/both of these, I would greatly appreciate it as I've been banging my head against it for a while now and would like to get this done for my members sooner rather than later.

    Thanks in advance!!!

Yeah, except it wasn't filled on my main board or my test board...and my main board has been in existence for almost a year now.

Anyway, it has been manually entered based on when my Admin account was created and the hook now functions without errors.  Thanks again.
  8. Gaarawarr added a post in a topic: "You posted in this topic" Marker but for specific Member Groups?

    Hey everyone!

I've been trying to find the code that triggers the "You posted in this topic" marker so I can try to adjust it to signify when a specific member group posts in topics so that everyone knows. (For example: a marker showing up to everyone that signifies that the Admins have posted in a thread.)

If anyone can point me in the right direction, or knows how to make this happen already, please let me know.

    Thanks!

    ~G

p.s. Almost forgot...I'd like it to show up in-line where the "Hot" does for when a thread has a lot of activity. I'm even OK with it showing up using that type of text/box code as well but with a change to the color.

Nice of IPS to not fill that field huh? Thanks.

Nope. It's blank on both my live site and my test site. Well, so much for that...

My point is, the errors are coming from this hook yet when I ask for help I get nothing. I'd really love to use this hook as my site is coming up on its 1-year anniversary. However, when I install it all I get are errors and an empty start-date field. I've looked at the common causes for issues like this and none of them seem to apply, hence coming here to the coder.

Well, so much for this being a "support" topic.

So you don't have any idea why it does this only after I install your addon and goes away when I remove it?

I'm getting the following errors at the top of my board after I install this:
