After moving all databases and files, i recieve SQL error as follow:
I asked the tech of my hosting and he said that it's not an usual SQL error he sees. He checked the "conf_global.php" file and he said that everything looks fine.
The only things that goes to my mind and might be causing this error is that the DNS has not been updated yet.
I have a temp URL from my hosting company which is different from the one in the "conf_global.php".
I don't know if that's causing the error or not, but i will be glad to get some help in order to solve it.
Yes, The folder i have backedup called "html" and inside of it all the forum files.
I have already backedup all the databases and uploaded them to the new hosting.
My main problem was that my old hosting dicided one morning to stop all hosting services with no notification. Although they are saying that they send email regarding that, i didn't recieve any kind of email nor my other friends who hosted their sites at the same hosting company.
At the begining they didn't even wanted to let me backup DB's and files but after i literally begged them, thay opened for me the option to do so.
That is way i can't ask from my new hosting to import or move my site to them.
I guess that eventually i will succeed to make my site functional again. A lot because of this forum and poeple like you:-)
With my old hosting there was a folder name "html" in the root directory which holds all the forum files.
I have read the guide which explains that i have to download it to my comp. and to upload it to the new server in the same structure, which i did.
But it doesnt works.
I see in the new server a folder name "Public_html".
I have asked the hosting tech where should i put my files but the tech help answer was not clear.
I can see that an a file by the name "default.html" exsit there which i can see and display.
So my guess is that my forum files should be in the "Public_html" folder.
Anyone can help me with this?
Do i have to do any changes within certain files?
Do i have to copy the "html" folder as is into the "public_html" or the content of it?
