  1. Steven@wt added a post in a topic: Receive notifications for followed unapproved content

    Hi all,
I am using IP.Downloads (2.5.4) in a somewhat unique fashion, and need to be able to allow the owner of an unapproved file to follow and receive notifications for it (client 'owns' the file, but cannot edit it, and the administrator updates it periodically).  I realize this goes against the intended use of the software, but its what I need!
An alternative to this would be to adapt the following setting from the forums somehow to IP.Downloads:
"Allow posters to view other member's topics"
It would of course be 'Allow members to view other members files', and I'd set it to No.
In this instance, I would be able to approve the client file and simply disallow other clients from seeing it.
    Any takers?
Budget is around $100 but I am flexible if anyone feels they can accomplish either objective.
  2. Steven@wt added a post in a topic: Nexus Package Image Sorting

    Hi all,
Does anyone know how nexus package images are sorted?
I have a package with multiple images assigned to it, and I want them to appear in a specific order.
Nexus seems to be selecting an order for them, but I can't quite pinpoint what it is.  It almost seems random, but there must be a way to override it.
So far, uploading them in the order I want them to appear doesn't seem to work, and neither does renaming either the originally uploaded files, or the automatically generated files in the file system and database.
I've had this problem with IP.Gallery in the past, but for that I simply altered the uploaded timestamp.  Unfortunately Nexus doesn't keep such a timestamp, and changing the image id in nexus_package_images seems to have no effect on sort order.
    Has anyone encountered this before?

Nexus 1.5.9 - Guests cannot see discounted price
I did some searching, and this has been a bug since 2013.
    - Configure 'Guests' group to receive a Usergroup Discount.
    - Log out and view the Store.  The original MSRP will be displayed with no strikethrough or any other indication that the item is on sale.
The item WILL add to the cart with the correct price, but this display issue makes it impossible to run a sale to the general public.

Nexus 1.5.9 - Support Request Attachments in Email Notifications
Support Request attachments in email notifications link to admin rather than public interface.
    - Attach a file to a support request via the admin interface and reply to SR.
    - Check email notification on users end, and note that the link contains a link to the admin interface, as well as the admin's current adsess key.
    The format *should* be:

    ^ Correct :)
  6. Steven@wt added a post in a topic: Suggestion: Per-member Tax Classes

I recently had a situation crop up where a reseller needed to not be charged any tax due to having a valid reseller certificate in the state in which he resides.  Unfortunately tax classes are set up per package, so my only option was to temporarily disable the tax class on the package he wanted to order in order to honor his reseller status.
I was thinking, it would probably be useful to be able to not only specify which tax class applies to a package, but also which tax class applies to individual users, with the user tax class trumping the one defined on the package.
I would imagine this per-user tax class setting would be located on the users Customer Data page, in the Details section.
Default setting would likely be 'same as location', with a dropdown to select the alternate tax class.
In my particular scenario, I would have created a new tax class for 'All Locations', set the rate to 0%, named the class 'Certified Reseller', then selected it from the dropdown on the users Customer Data page.
Just putting this out there.   Thanks for reading.

^ indeed. This seems like a commonly overlooked option.  I think I once asked Adriano to create a hook that does exactly this, only to discover it was already built into the software. lol

Also, apparently the mobile menu blocks the sign in area on my custom skin as well.  I believe there should be an option to remove mobile device detection altogether, but there is not.  Setting 'Mobile Style min width' to a very small value doesn't seem to work.

Is there a way to make sub-menus open left instead of right?  My skin has the primary nav menus on the right side of the page.  Thanks!

same here.  Upgraded MySQL and PHP to the same versions in preparation for 4.0.

I would recommend Marcher's Visual Page Layout Editor:

Sounds like an idea for a custom skin.  Default IPB skin with templates broken down into smaller pieces.  globalTemplate would essentially just be a short list of calls to display other templates.
Whether it would be more efficient would be debatable though.  I think once you get the hang of things its not so difficult to find what you're looking for with the way things are now.

  15. Steven@wt added a post in a topic: [RESOLVED] How can you change the link for the "continue shopping" text in the shopping cart?

    - Log into the admin interface and go to Look & Feel --> Manage Languages
    - Click on English(USA) (or whatever language youre using)
    - In the 'Find:' box, type 'Continue Shopping', and click on the magnifying glass.
    - In the results, you'll see that the code for that text is 'cart_continue'
    - Now go to Look & Feel --> Search & Replace
    - Select your skin from the dropdown, and enter 'cart_continue' (no quotes) in the 'Search For' box, then click Continue.
    - You'll find that 'cart_continue' appears in skin_nexus_payments --> viewCart and upsell.
    - From there, you can click on each template, use Ctrl+F to find any instances of cart_continue in the code, and adjust any links accordingly.

    Hope that helps you!
