I created a community on the 15th of January with a friend. We created the site to cater to a need of an Old School Runescape forum.
We really only have one thing to win new people over, and it's that we are giving people free Runescape membership when they are active on the website, (after they gain enough points from reputation and posting) which I am now noticing just bring in users that do nothing but post really low key content.
We gained 1,014 or so unique visits to the website so far, which is really motivating, however we only have 29 users. We get on average 12 users posting on the website each day. I understand it's only a matter of days old, but I'd like to see this improve.
Any tips on how I can take the forum forward from the start of next month?
I've tried googling around, and searched no the forums. I'm struggling knowing what to search for, so I figured I'd just go ahead and ask.
I've seen this modification (is it even a mod?) on many ipb forums. When a user posts one post, and then another in the same topic right after, it merges the two together. How would I go about enabling this on my website?
I want to be able to reward my members when they refer friends to the site. By adding a simple table when signing up, where a user will input who referred them to the site, is there a way to store that in a mySQL database, and from there have the ability to automatically upgrade their accounts (like you would if they reach a x number of days or posts) when they reach a certain number of referrals?
Just wondering, would really help the site grow. :)
