    As much as I would like this fixed, I cannot give you access to my forum since it would be considered a security risk. This is out of respect for my users.
    Sorry.

    If there is any other way for me to help, just let me know.

    Thanks.

    Note: the issue is the same when I use "Force users to read this topic" under the moderator tools.

    I hope this helps. Let me know if I missed anything you need to see.

    Thanks!

    I am having this exact issues as well. I may be able to add more details about this issue.

    It keeps redirecting me to the <forum-url>/index.php?showannouncement=&f=0
    It looks like, no matter what you choose, it will always try to redirect to a forum announcement rather than a topic.

    I have a custom theme, it could be the mod does not implement well with third-part themes?

    I hope this helps you to fix the issue.

    Thanks

    I found the problem.

    in the ipsRegistry.php file, go to ~line 1784, and you should see this:
    else if( strpos( $_configuredHost, 'www.' ) !== 0 AND strpos( $_requestedHost, 'www.' ) === 0 ) { ipsRegistry::getClass('output')->silentRedirect( ipsRegistry::$settings['board_url'] . $_toTest, '', true ); } change it to this:
    else if( strpos( $_configuredHost, 'www.' ) !== 0 AND strpos( $_requestedHost, 'www.' ) === 0 ) { if( !defined('IPS_NO_WWW_REDIRECT') || !IPS_NO_WWW_REDIRECT ) { ipsRegistry::getClass('output')->silentRedirect( ipsRegistry::$settings['board_url'] . $_toTest, '', true ); } } and before you include the ipsRegistry files etc, define "IPS_NO_WWW_REDIRECT" and set it to true, example:
    define('IPS_NO_WWW_REDIRECT', TRUE); // <------------ define('IPS_ENFORCE_ACCESS', TRUE); define('IPB_THIS_SCRIPT', 'public'); require_once('/path/to/forum/initdata.php'); require_once('/path/to/forum/admin-directory/sources/base/ipsRegistry.php'); require_once('/path/to/forum/admin-directory/sources/base/ipsController.php'); $this->ipsRegistry = ipsRegistry::instance(); $this->ipsRegistry->init();

    Hi IPS Community

    For long I wondered why I was unable to use www. in my domain. Every time I went to www.<domain>.com it would redirect me to the forum.<domain>.com instead (where my forum is setup).
    I recently found that if I removed the code I use for getting the member and post data from my forum from my site, www.<domain>.com would work.

    The following code is what, when added to my site, causes the redirection.
    I have no idea where or how to stop this from happening.
    $forum_path = realpath(dirname(__FILE__) . '/..') . '/forums'; define('IPS_XML_RPC_DEBUG_ON', 0); define('IPS_XML_RPC_DEBUG_FILE', ''); include($forum_path . '/ips_kernel/classXmlRpc.php'); $this->ipsAPI = new classXmlRpc(); define('IPS_ENFORCE_ACCESS', TRUE); define('IPB_THIS_SCRIPT', 'public'); require_once( $forum_path . '/initdata.php' ); require_once( $forum_path . '/<admin-directory-name>/sources/base/ipsRegistry.php' ); require_once( $forum_path . '/<admin-directory-name>/sources/base/ipsController.php' ); $this->ipsRegistry = ipsRegistry::instance(); $this->ipsRegistry->init(); Is there some setting or definition I have forgotten to set or overlooked?

    I hope I made sense.

    Thanks!

    EDIT: I am running the latest version of IPB.

  9. MrEliasen added a post in a topic: Additional field on registration

    Hi everyone,

    I have been trying to create a hook for my IPB but I have not have any luck yet.
    The hook I am trying to create should do the following:

    Add a field called "Access Token" to the registration form.
    When the registration form is submitted, it will check if the token is not blank and if it matches the token I have written in the settings. If not, then it should fail the registration.

    I can create the settings and found out how to load them in my hook, but I have no idea how to add the field to the registration form or even checking that field once the form is submitted.
    Could anyone share some of their know-how on this subject? or point in the right direction where I might find more info on this?

    Thanks, any help is appreciated!
