My fault, I was looking in the adminOutput.php rather than publicOutput.php. What do I actually do from there to create a verticle sideblock? I understand it has something to do with the <!--fcontent_groupID--> tag. Where do I apply this tag to create a sideblock and how should this tag be completed - for example I have a group of images called Home, would I therefore tag as:
Sorry to be needing basic instructions, I have not been able to work it out yet. What I want to do is make a verticle block of displaying only one image that is in a collection of about 6 that rotates using the fade function in the sideblock. Is it possible to do this?
I was wondering if you could tell me how to decrease the width of the Nav and Admin/user Sign in bars on the top and bottom of the slider. I looked around at the ipb.styles css file and tried some settings but could not work it out. It is probably about 40 - 50% wider than I would like to go with.
I've noticed that my search bar has disappeared from my header but the little cog to do the advanced search is still there. I'm not sure if it is a result of my playing around in the CSS but I noticed someones board in the MAXX Dark support thread also had the same issue. I'm pretty sure it was working after the last time I was working with the CSS.
I'm not sure if there is a solution to this one but I applied my own custom background image but there is still a minor delay flash as it loads with some sort of light blue default screen. The image file I used was only about 400KB which was comparible to the demo set that comes with the skin, so I wouldn't think that would be a huge issue. Anyway, I have no idea but was wondering what you thoughts were.
Is there a way to remove the ips-skins.com link from the bottom of the skin? I find that giving my forum users a link to click that directs them straight to the site that demonstrates the building blocks of mine kind of takes away from the professional image that I am trying to portray. I know these sorts of developer tags are common practice but I would be more comfortable with people being redirected to a web developers page or something other than a demonstration of the bricks and mortar of my site.
Overall, I am really impressed and am having a great time working with this skin and the simple user options it provides. It has taken very little time to go from out of the box to functioning in a way tha exceeds my expectations. I would be interested to see how others who have purchased this skin have made use of it. For anyone who would like to see how I am going with it, check my site out at www.meridianadventure.com
No, I gave up and went into the config.php file to stop my forum functioning through the https:// and changed it back to the http:// setting without the SSL. I read through all pages of this forum today to try and work out how to get it functioning in the index sidebar which is something I would really like to do. I used the instructions in the readme file and advice from this thread without any luck. I'm sure it can be done somehow but there is a lot of backend work for people like myself and by the sounds of it, many others here who are limited in knowledge and experience. Even if you made a new standalone product that did that as simply as this one does across the top of the board, I would buy it.
Hi Tom, the problem appears to be occuring at my end, where having applied an SSL, graphical errors are now occuring, which in this instance was a failure to display any of the skin/image content with the GLARE template. It's causing a few other things to play up, all isolated to IE and at this stage, mainly affecting my GLARE skin although there is a hook when running Pulse that is also doing its own thing. If I can get this problem sorted out and get work out how to reposition my logo slightly to sit more centrally as previously mentioned, I would be really happy to go and apply this skin permanently. But like I said, all problems at my end and the skin itself is a great product for a great price.
I'm having a problem where in Explorer my fcontent bar runs vertically down the top centre of the page including behind the forums bars. I have all the settings correct for it to run horizontally at the top and that occurs on all other browsers. I have identified the problem as having something to do with my SSL as when I go to https://www.meridianadventure.com/forums/ the problem occurs but if I enter without the SS http://www.meridianadventure.com/forums/ every thing appears as it should and does in other browsers.
I read a couple of pages back of someone who had an SSL error conflict who was advised to insert the code below, which I checked and was already there.
