Awesome, thank you. Too many holiday beers I think, its easy enough. All paid up, happy new year to you too :)
  2. Chesterfieldz added a post in a topic: license renewal

    Hi,

HAve been away and missed the renewa of my license (was due December 17th).  I went to the client section to renew ($85) - but got a message saying that this invoice now refers to products that have had their renewal costs changed.  So I then clicked "cancel and reissue new invoice".

Now I cant find any way of renewing my licenses for various ip products I have.  Any help much appreciated on what I should do to renew all licenses....
  3. Chesterfieldz added a post in a topic: Customer profile field drop down layout

Is it at all possible to customise the layout of a drop down custom profile field.

Im looking to have a selection for town, split into regional groups if possible, so that instead of a standard list:

    Instead of the standard:

    town 1
    town 2
    town 3
    Burgh 1
    Burgh 2
    State 1
    State 2

    the drop down looks like:

    England
    town 1
    town 2
    town 3

    Scotland:
    Burgh 1
    Burgh 2

    USA:
    State 1
    State 2

Is this possible does anyone know?
  4. Chesterfieldz added a post in a topic: Ad banner links do not work

Have resolved this now, though Im not sure if it is a bug, so have reported it.

By switching off the setting Redirect to friendly URL in the system settings for SEO, the advertbanners and contactus links started to work again.  I can only assume that the redirect to friendly URL setting is seeing the incoming request for index.php?app=nexus&module=promotion&section=adclick&id=48 and trying to redirect to a frinedly version, which doesnt work.

As we have never used an older version of the IPBoard, there should not be any "un" friendly URLS to our board in existence, so believe I can safely leave this option off without any ill effects.
  5. Chesterfieldz added a post in a topic: Ad banner links do not work

It would appear its a problem with our install of nexus itself.   I have just upgraded to the latest version, but the "contact us" link at the bottom of the page also does not work.

    http://www.domain.com/index.php?app=nexus&module=support&section=new

it would appear to be the "index.php?app=nexus&module= "  section that is not doing as it should...
  6. Chesterfieldz added a post in a topic: Ad banner links do not work

For some reason, our ad banners seem to have stopped working.   Im sure it is a cache error somewhere, but would appreciate some help in identifying the problem.

After adding a promotion, the advert is displayed correctly, and the link associated with the promotion (when you hover over is):

    http://www.domain.com/index.php?app=nexus&module=promotion&section=adclick&id=48

When you click this however, the page is not found.  You get a standard "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading." error in the browser - as if the page simply cannot be located.

For information we have ip.content and FURLs if this has anything to do with it.

I have tried recaching all, recaching skins etc - but no change.

    Any suggestions?
  7. Chesterfieldz added a post in a topic: [RESOLVED] Next unread topic not working

Running te executive template that I just updated to the latest version - weird.

Any idea which particular template file I should be inspecting to find this?

Found it.  topicViewTemplate was the culprit.

    Had this:
    <a href='{parse url="showtopic={$topic['tid']}&amp;view=nextunread" template="showtopicnextunread" seotitle="{$topic['title_seo']}" base="public"}' class="ipsType_small desc">{$this->lang->words['goto_next_unread_topic']}</a>

    Sould have been:
    <a href='{parse url="showtopic={$topic['tid']}&amp;view= get nextunread" template="showtopicnextunread" seotitle="{$topic['title_seo']}" base="public"}' class="ipsType_small desc">{$this->lang->words['goto_next_unread_topic']}</a>

How do you do that?  Cant see the setting/option?

    I found it.

Shame you cant archive multiple conversations/messages in one go.
  9. Chesterfieldz added a post in a topic: Multiple themes one template?

Probably a very stupid question, but Im just getting to grips with the setting up of themes etc.

I was wondering if it is possible to have multiple themes, using one set of templates but with differing image sets.

I.e. we have 7 themes, all exactly the same other than the colour of the logo and a couple of css items.  Red theme has red logo & red border in CSS, green theme has green logo & green border in CSS etc etc..

Is it possible to have multiple themes all using one set of templates, but having them use a different image set each, and different styles.css each?
  10. Chesterfieldz added a post in a topic: [RESOLVED] Next unread topic not working

    Hi,

Have recent converted from phpbb3, and all seems to have gone well, no major issues.

However we have a problem where the page__view__nextunread link does not work correctly

    example:  viewing the following page:

    domain.com/topic/64062-new-forum-help/page__st__60

The link for viewing the next unread topic is:

    domain.com/showtopic=64062/page__view__nextunread

however, this results in the "Sorry we couldnt find that!"  page.

Any suggestions on where to look?

For info we have ipcontent also installed and use FURL's (as can be seen above).
  11. Chesterfieldz added a post in a topic: Private message enhancements suggestion

    Yes good point.

What about an alternative method that phpbb uses - which is to allow a message to be sent to a member, but if that member has a full inbox, they cannot read the message until they clear out enough room to receive the new message.

ip phpbb it works a little like this:

User A send a message to User B.  (user B has a full message box)
User B receives a notification that they have a new message - when they go to their inbox, they are advised the message is on hold until they clear out some old messages
User B clears out some old stuff, and then can "release" the message on hold.
The message then arrives in User B's inbox, and at the same time moves from User A's outbox, to sent items.

This allows a message to be sent, allows User A to see when it has been read (it is still in the outbox until read by User B and then it will show in User A's sent box).

It also means the person receiving the message is made aware that they have a full inbox, but does not require the sender to keep trying to send a message hoping that the other user has now made some space.
  12. Chesterfieldz added a post in a topic: Private message enhancements suggestion

After moving from phpbb3 to IPB I was hoping that message management would work pretty much the same.

However I see no ability to have messages to outo delete the oldest when a new one arrives if your inbox is full.  Or the option for members to backup or export their messages.

We have a few traders on the forum that use PM quite a bit and would benefit from being able to export their conversations by xml or csv etc like phpbb3 offers.

Could I suggest this functionality be added to the message system within IPB. :)
