    REALLY looking forward to this.
  2. civ added a post in a topic: SEO issues - Duplicate content

As a fellow user, I just want to say thanks to those of you who are reporting this stuff. It's a big deal to all of us, and it is definitely appreciated!
  3. civ added a post in a topic: Suggestion: Block Permissions

What a great idea - please implement this in the next version!
  4. civ added a post in a topic: (DP34) Global Sidebars

My AdminCP says there is an update available, but I have 1.0.9.4 installed and that's the latest version I see in the Marketplace as well. ??
  5. civ added a post in a topic: Need the ability to demote articles

Not deleted, but I did a Move instead of a copy when they were promoted. So now all that original topic has in it is a link to the article.
  6. civ added a post in a topic: When promoting topics to articles, all follow-up posts in the original topic should become comments

Okay, that's how I thought it worked. It would be really nice though if we had the option to make it not so. :)

All of these older topics of mine that I'm migrating to IP.C will not have any comments, and that makes them seem awfully lonely and un-useful sitting there in IP.C all neglected. :)

I could really use the ability to demote articles that were promoted from forum topics.
  8. civ added a post in a topic: When promoting topics to articles, all follow-up posts in the original topic should become comments

Ok I've tried it both ways and no comments come over. I'll put in a ticket.

So to get the topic replies to be promoted as comments to the new article, I should NOT check the box that says, "Use original topic for article comments?", right?

Well I could even live with that, I could delete the replies from the topic if I had to, in order to prevent duplicate content issues with Google. What do I have to do to get the topic replies to be entered as comments to the promoted article? I just promoted an article and that didn't happen.

I'm not sure I understand. I don't see an option to promote topics and have the topic replies come over to the new article as comments.

What I'm looking for is this:

    - ABC topic has 3 replies to it,
    - I promote it to ABC article in IP.Content, choosing to have all future comments posted to the new IPC article and to remove all content from the forum topic, leaving just a link in the original forum topic to the new IPC article,
    - Those 3 original replies become comments attached to the IPC article and are no longer shown in the original forum topic.

So basically, the original ABC topic that previously contained an initial topic post + 3 topic replies becomes simply a link to the new article - it now contains no original topic content, no replies, nothing, just a link.

    Is that already possible?

I have a lot of older topics that I'm about to promote to articles now that we're using IP.C, but I was disappointed to realize that when I promoted/moved a topic with replies in it, the replies were left behind. I could understand that if I had chosen the option to have comments in the topic, but I chose not to do that and instead have comments posted to the article itself.

It would be great to have an option to move the topic replies to the new article as comments.

Just purchased - for $20 it was worth a shot. Thanks for the mod.

Just awesome - exactly what I needed. Pulled in my IPB2 subscriptions just as expected. Thank you for maintaining this project!
