  2. yacenty added a post in a topic: Great Results with Nginx Cache

we had implemented this solution and speed for guests is amazing. something like 20 to 30 times faster than for regular users.
is it good to cache php pages in ram disk? would it be faster than on regular sas hdd? how much faster should it be - it seems we have 10gb of free ram.
is it possible to somehow cache data for logged in users?

I have system and static data on sas drive and db on ssd - performance is much better in comparision to the old sas drive.

we did in on our test bench. improvement is great, about 15 to 20times faster responses on the forum main page :)
on Saturday we are moving production to the test bench, we will try to measure it

it's coppied from this forum, from Kirito instruction how to set up nginx for board
    # GZIP static content not processed by IPB. gzip on; gzip_static on; gzip_http_version 1.1; gzip_vary on; gzip_comp_level 6; gzip_proxied any; gzip_types text/plain text/css application/json application/x-javascript application/xml application/xml+rss text/javascript application/javascript text/x-js; gzip_buffers 16 8k; gzip_disable "MSIE [1-6].(?!.*SV1)";

Hi guys we had enabled gzip in nginx.
in acp we had set up disable_gzip to YES
unfortunatelly in many testers of gzziping webpages only some files are gzipped.
Attached list on which are, which are not.

    Is it ok?
    how to fix it?

    Hi Guys - short question,
how to check if gzip is working?

I own a dedicated server - the cheapest from DC, and there are some prestas shops, 5 ipb instalations and other services - all together over 60domains are handled there :) all with small trafic and everything runs nice

Just now I have realized it could be a small issue especialy when You have 100k users, multiplied by 3 files it gives us 300.000 files.
Then when You have 1000 users online (by GA real time) ~2000 users in last 15min by IPB, it could a problem.

Any idea how to optimize it?

here is log from my production:
    % Total % Received % Xferd Average Speed Time Time Time Current Dload Upload Total Spent Left Speed 100 453k 0 453k 0 0 358k 0 --:--:-- 0:00:01 --:--:-- 1731k Connect: 0.001 TTFB: 1.206 Total time: 1.265 what should we tweak?

    for gallery page we have:
    % Total % Received % Xferd Average Speed Time Time Time Current Dload Upload Total Spent Left Speed 100 138k 0 138k 0 0 306k 0 --:--:-- --:--:-- --:--:-- 8794k Connect: 0.001 TTFB: 0.437 Total time: 0.451

in peak we have over 1000users online by Google Analytics and over 2500users by IPB (15min)statistics, so every byte over our eth0 interface would be visible :)

I did the test on your dev site and in shows compression is enbled.
