Suspended users can still update their status

It appears users who have had their posting suspended can still update their status messages. Is this actually done on purpose or a bug? I think it would be better if they weren't able to update their status, since it is effectively the same as posting.

Where are you updating the status from? When suspended I am not able to perform any actions and the status update form from the user dropdown does not work as expected.

Are you perhaps using the restrict from posting setting in ACP > Members > User > Forum Details & Restrictions? If so then yes this setting only applies to posting and this would not be considered a bug. If you wish all user submissions to be restricted then the member should be suspended.

I did not use the restrict from posting setting, but removed the "ability to create content" via the warning panel. As far as I can tell, this should also apply to status updates.

I am updating my status from the popup that appears when I click on my user name in the header.

Thank you. While we're on the subject, users also shouldn't be able to access the chat while they have their "content creation" suspended.
