After looking into this, it's going to take some significant updates to many areas of the code to 100% support guest chatting. For now I've added code to block guests, and will look into a more robust solution to handle guests fully for 1.1.

No, that's why it's still flagged for a future version. This will most likely be tackled during the next major update, as it's going to require significant changes.

Is there an ETA when this might get updated? I am interested in allowing guest chat too on my forum.

This is a main feature I purchased/renewed this for. This is a premium product and price and renewal fee. Assigning guests permissions in anywhere should of been resolved Looooong ago. Why in the world create a chat program people can not use. I will rarely say anything negative about IPB but this chat really is sub-par by far. If your using this chat as part of your business how are people supposed to reach you when they need assistance? make everyone who needs assistance sign up? Crazy.... If entire group permissions do not work there is no way a peice of software should be even released. That's such a major area to just "leave out" or "leave un=corrected" It's the most important part.

Can't be hosted
Relies on un-reliable resource servers and has issues with connections
No video capabilities
no guests allowed

There has to be a better choice/option. The longer you take to fix this the more money any stores stand to lose. This is a much bigger deal than you may think.
