I Select Either or "Unnapproved"(this is local mind you, current files) on the Articles Feed Filter For Record visibility.
I "hide" an article(fitting, visibility filter

).
This Article Simply Disappears from the result set no matter the feed block configuration.

Not Approved above... still stands, you hide a record, it gets wiped from the results of every feed block regardless of the setting telling it not to remove them or even to filter upon them.

Unnapproved and hidden are actually two different things, but I'll look into seeing about adding support for "hidden" stuff.

as a general note... here's me also scratching my head as to why an assumption is made on future published items in the case of articles.... not a bug, just a quirk/annoyance when you are specifically trying to show those items.

You've got a point about the publish date, but that's not something I really want to get into changing heavily in a point release. I'll make a note for the next major version to make that configurable.

I've added a "hidden" option to the visibility filter.
