Adding Submission before Upload is Complete

My Downloads implementation handles large files, usually over 50 MB and up to 300 MB in file size. With sizes this large, the upload takes more than seconds - more like 5 or so minutes. Once a user has selected the file and it begins to upload, the user will proceed with providing a screen shot and filing out the text fields.

Once filing out all the required information, the user will click the 'Add Submission' button. Since we are dealing with large files, the upload is not complete and the Downloads add-on cancels the upload.

Improvement Request:
Instead of canceling the download and throwing an error, it should save the meta information and attach it to the uploaded file once it is complete. Think of how you upload a youtube video. With youtube uploads, you can edit and save the video meta fields while the upload is in progress...

Updating status to: Unintended User Behavior

The uploader (flash version) even has a bar that shows the upload progress. if you purposefully hit the 'add submission' button before the upload is complete you're basically asking for troubles..
Any way to disable the 'add submission' button before the upload is complete?
Same end result as this report:
