Advertising package error

If you sell advertising and have a monthly rate for a banner:
1. Add to cart.
2. Update quantity to 2 for 2 months.
3. "You cannot directly modify the quantity of that type of item. Please go back to the store and add any additional items you need manually."
For some reason the user is forced to upload the exact same banner to add a month, instead of being able to update the cart. So for 6 months the user has to hit back and upload 6 of the same banner.

You should set the renewal options for the package to the options you want the user to have.
