{id} not parsed in manual payment method description

From #813371 - can reproduce locally on clean 1.5.2
When setting up a manual payment method it indicates that you can use "{id}" in the details box which will get replaced with the transaction ID but this is not getting parsed in the front end so after checking out it just displays {id}.

Any chance for a quick fix? as it causes confusion issue for our customers as they have no way to provide us tracking number of their order.. and our 3rd party system recognizes the transactions using this ID.
