Wrong usergroup set


1. Member purchases group subscription.
2. Member buys another (higher up) instead of using the upgrade function.
3. Admin cancels original purchase.
4. Return usergroup is set for the premium group #1 so when the 2nd purchase expires, they skate with a free premium membership.

This probably also happens if they buy the same subscription as a renewal instead of renewing.

When package #1 is canceled it should remove this group as a previous usergroup. It should also be fixed in case this goes unnoticed and the admin does not cancel so there are no freebies.

Updating Status to: Cannot Reproduce

Under those circumstances, it returns to the original group for me. I'd recommend contacting technical support.
I did. It was confirmed and they ran a query to update the return group. Ticket 811672

Support says:

The problem here is that when the member purchased the package, they were in the Premium group so this is what Nexus made a record of. The issue is that IP.Nexus isn't designed to handle this situation where a member purchases a new subscription rather than just upgrades their existing one.

I recommend posting this, and the suggestion for a more visible client area link, in the IP.Nexus Suggestions forum so that they can be considered for a future version.
