not going to get into the fact no autosave is present as really that's a feature request.
The bug is that every time I open a reply window in the app(first-gen iPad iOS 5.1.1) the cursor starts 2 lines from the top, requiring removal to not have it in the response.

I don't quite see what you are talking about can I get a screenshot?
Is always starting 2 lines down, remove them, hit cancel, hit add reply again and it reappears.
I'll have to steal an ipad 1 from work tomorrow
